Tube sites changing porn is nothing new. Anyone who stays on top of curent events will know this has been the bane of the industry for nearly 5 years now and even then the tube sites are suffering because of the huge amount of bandwidth being consumed (according to a BBC documentary) I'm sure this has all but changed now that Manwin have dominated the tube traffic by buying all the sites up.

This is part of the reason why I think arguments against GEIL will fall on deaf ears. Maybe you are right, maybe some producers are scrambling to get the last coinage out of a dying market. Can you blame them?

I dont share the same sentiment however but agree you may well have a point. I just dont see how this pans out as you say, we are getting 25% of what we dont know, if we ever do so the motive cannot be just about money.

The only people I see winning this war is Manwin

Even if GEIL lose today what makes you think someone wont come in with attack wave 3 and a much refined legally tight version of its predecessors to start all over again.

The opportunity is like The Terminator. It will just keep coming back. Maybe not through GEIL but if Manwin ever picked it up you'd all better run for cover.

That means everyone!

@OEJ

It?s funny that we can go all round the houses with viewpoints and the actual detail is missed.

From my observation, you say that things have got really bad financially because of piracy which you align to p2p downloads. This suggests a previous position of strength for you. When? Five years ago? p2p has been around since the nineties so I guess you haven?t seen ?the good times? for fifteen years. Remember that it wasn?t that long ago when you had p2p and newsgroups in dominance.

You keep saying that you haven?t met an innocent person, but make hints that it may be the case. Do you need to meet an innocent person? I haven?t met victim of a bank robbery, but I know they exist. If members of the House of Lords, The One Show, Which? and many other prominent media shows have made such claims that innocent people are targeted, then that is very compelling.

Conversely, I do appreciate your problem regarding piracy, although I don?t believe it is the case of every p2p download is a lost sale like GEIL and others claim. I think this despite not seeing proper independent evidence to prove it.

The crux of the matter is this. p2p downloading is wrong and targeting innocent people is wrong. Two wrongs don?t make a right. I?ll ask you one thing. You have the possible position of asking Julian Becker to show you the 2,845 IP addresses and why only less than a thousand were matched to a subscriber. This has got to be wrong and until you can make a strong case against that, your actions cannot be seen as merited. Put it out to the general media that innocents are targeted and you are suffering with piracy, and where do you think sympathies will lie?

Yes bpaw....You and Hickster have me at a loss. You know who I am and what i look like but I cannot say the same for either of you. I have no idea whether Hickster or yourself is innocent as you say you are.

If you are innocent then why not use real names. You fight for a just cause but yet you do so behind a pseudonym. Ok you want to keep your life private but I think people will question the validity of your innocence in all of this if you lack the courage of your convictions to come out.

You know a helluvva lot about my affairs nut I know nothing about you so I am sure you will extend me the courtesy in not having to answer all your questions.

I am a spokesman for me and what i do. Not for GEIL. If you are using my opinions on the matter as a weapon against them then you are wasting your time as this is all just fluff really Important fluff but fluff none the less.

Ive answered all the questions and more on this thread. Anyone would think I was on trial !laugh!

Piracy of porn has always been around. It was worse years ago when people were selling bootleg nth generation VHS copies but porn still thrived. So why is this any different?

I can't help but feel there is hypocrisy in this from Ben Dover. Let's not forget that Dover served time for selling porn. He used to import it illegally hidden in the bottom of wine bottles so he says. He used to flog them at car boot sales. I'm pretty sure it wasn't all his stuff. Did the makers and distributors of these films receive payment from Dover for doing this? If I remember rightly he says that in doing that he also imported "Animal Farm".

Altruist, thats some kind of answer to justify downloading is acceptable. Its like it can' t be stolen if he USED to steal 20 20 or 30 years ago. Its a weak argument.

Hes been a producer more years than he was a pirate so Id say one act cancels the other out big time.

Plus hes done his time. I thought thats was what it was for. He paid his debt to society. Now he wants societies freeloaders to pay their debt to him.

Wheres the hypocrisy in that?

Attn bpaw and Hickster:

I had a chat with Julian this morning where he explained why he doesnt get involved with commenting on forums with regards this topic and he went one better to suggest a public debate with all those who are opposing what he is doing if they agree to be filmed for my documentary.

Both of you have strong opposing views and this is your chance to have an audience with him and any others as long as its filmed (by me) for my documentary movie which I am hoping to be ready for next year

Is this something you would agree to?
