"But I do have my suspicions that any contributory causal role by fans (ticketless or otherwise) was deliberately whitewashed out by this "independent" inquiry (chaired by the Bishop of Liverpool!) for reasons of political expediency and to appease the families, to give them some sort of "closure". No-one on it was ever going to attach even a shred of blame to Liverpool fans - they would have been completely pilloried and vilified if they did. The subject is just too emotive now"
So in effect, Eric, you are accusing the Independent Panel of a conspiracy to "whitewash" the causal role of Liverpool fans in the disaster. They did this on the basis that the "subject is just too emotive now".
This is a similar charge as the families made i.e. that the South Yorkshire Police "whitewashed" references to their own failings out of the causes of the disaster and concentrated their fire on "drunken, violent, ticketless Liverpool fans".
Now the report provides EVIDENCE that the families were correct in terms of the dirty tricks campaign in which over 100 references from police constables re. the failure of their senior police officers in terms of crowd control were edited out of their statements. And there is EVIDENCE that the police provided lies to the media to denigrate the fans.
Now what EVIDENCE Eric, do you have for your conspiracy theory that the Independent Panel has "whitewashed out" involvement of the Liverpool fans in the causes of the disaster? Some of the panel come from Liverpool? That's not EVIDENCE, Eric. That is bollocks.
And finally when you try to explain the whitewash in terms of "the subject is just too emotive now" what you clearly have not grasped is that the independent panel in terms of the role of the fans in the disaster merely repeats the findings of the Taylor inquiry which started just a few days after the disaster when the fans were getting vilified left right and centre in the press. The Taylor report found that it was not the fans that caused the disaster.

spunkie's version of events is a fantasy on his part.
Nobody ran towards a pen that was already crowded, as he falsely claims.
Once inside the ground, the fans went through a tunnel which did not afford them any view of the pen they would enter at the end of the tunnel.
When they got to the end of the tunnel and found the pen was packed it was physically impossible to go back.
Facts please spunkie, not wild fantasises and false claims.

How fucking dare you you ignorant shit!
Families have already recieved compensation, that's not what it's about. It's about fuckers like you who would rather believe the S**, than actual facts. My cousin was in the upper stand pulling people to safety, and witnessing the carnage down below... a memory that still lives with him.
Mr Valleywater, you may hate our club, that's fair enough, but deal with facts not hatred. If that's how you feel, stay out of it. You have no desire to learn or understand what actually happened that day, so stay out of it.
Re funding, it's been us who have funded getting this far for the last 23 years, and will continue to do so.

Re: And some logic for you, Eric
Exactly. There is no new evidence here, apart from the extent of the cover up. That's 70% of Police statements that were altered. The verdict is the same, but no one chose to listen first time around.

Well you'd know all about bollocks David, given that you talk more than your fair share of bollocks on this hallowed forum.
Pompous, condescending, insulting and sanctimonious bollocks as well, for the most part.
You're being VERY na?ve if you seriously think that having the Bishop of Liverpool as chairman, plus at least two others with close ties to the city, plus another with (shall we say) "vested interests" as panel members makes the inquiry 100% "independent", neutral and objective.
Are you denying that if Cameron set up an "independent" inquiry into something and put four of his Eton chums on the panel (with one of them chairing it) you wouldn't be straight on here howling him down in derision and pouring scorn on him? And that you wouldn't be back again screaming "whitewash!!" if said inquiry didn't return the findings you want to hear?
Go on David ? look me in the "virtual eye" and deny it.
Why do you have such a bee in your bonnet about Hillsborough anyway? Is it really out of a sense of "justice" and out of "concern for the families"? Or is it more to do with your usual politically-motivated and rabidly anti-police, anti-Thatcher stance?

Re: Jack Straw
I see that Jack Straw has blamed police lies and deception on Margaret Thatcher and the Tories, which I also believe is true to a point. However one must ask, why when New labour got into power did neither he nor his chums do nothing to redress this injustice. The truth must have been known at the highest levels of government at the time.
I expect they continued the deception for, "Political expediency." and now of course, it is "Politically expedient" to blame the Tories and conveniently omit the fact that they had 13 whole years to expose the gross injustice.
Aren't politicians a bunch of amoral, lying wankers, whatever their pursuation? !puke!

Sheffield police have form
These inquiries into the police in South Yorkshire would appear not to be the first time they have been subject to scrutiny. Way back in 1963 it transpired that the use of bull whips on people held in custody was not uncommon with the culture that pervaded the force at the time.

Re: Scum Liverpool fans..the real killers
Back in 2003 when my mrs was working a lot in Liverpool I used to walk our dog on the beach in 'pool' and often met a guy in his 50's who had lost a mate at Hillsborough that day and he always told me that he hoped the truth would someday come out. He also told me the truth and my my was he accurate !
It is indeed, all very much part of the corrupt political system that Thatcher helped to create. The bias against football in general and in particular it's fans in the 80's was excessive to put it mildly. Top heads MUST roll for this abortion of justice. Knighthoods must be revoked and police pensions stopped. SCUM, bent police have to pay ! Each family member KILLED must be given ?1 million each in compensation too. Stop sending money abroad to bent regimes and look after our own.
