That would be a fairytale finish,be it very unlikely

I somehow think Van Basten will rest any injured/yellow carded players but this will just open the door for the rest of the squad to press their claims for a starting place in the knockout rounds

I just can't get interested in this competition at all. I've watched a few matches that were ok - but they always score when I go to make a cup of tea! --- how does that happen?

Jonny,in a nutshell mate,sods law.

I've missed many goals at Stamford Bridge by going for a jimmy during the game.Try making your cup of rosie before the game starts or at half time.JonnyHungwell wrote:

It's rumoured that V.B is going rest almost his entire starting XI.Expect the likes of Melchiot,Heittiga,Bouma,Huntelaar to make starts against Romania.Bookies have even installed Romania as favourites to beat Holland on Tuesday.

This news will infuriate the French and Italian's.But if you were in Van Basten's shoes, would you really care what people think?.UEFA have even allowed the Dutch to field their second string team against Romania.

Croatia who are in the drivers seat like Holland is doing it and a lot more as well according to the euro site....8/9 players rumoured to be changed

Any of those slumbing at the foot of the table only have themselves to blame for their predicament but they will scream like spoilt brats if Holland lose playing a 2nd string side

Its just smart to leave out anyone on a yellow

Part of the problem was caused by UEFA themselves by not "mixing things up" in the latter stages of the competition. The way this competition is structured you can meet a team from your group stage as early as the semis, whereas in a World Cup, you could only ever possibly meet them in the final.

If you were van Basten, who would you prefer to meet in a possible semi final... Romania or one from Italy/France? No brainer really.

It was a no brainer that Scolari would of changed his team,to rest his key players.Expect Croatia to do the same tonight,Holland tomorrow and Spain on Wednesday.

Portugal's game had no effect on the Turkey v Czech Republic match as that was like a play off in it's own right.

Expect to see a few more freak results over the next few days, but it's back to business on Thursday.Deuce Bigolo wrote:

It's playing havoc with my Fantasy Football choices... do I go for a regular who may be rested, or do I go for the 2nd choice in his position only to find he scores no pints due to losing 2-0... or do I go for a player in a team who are out of the competition but up against the 2nd string of a country that have already qualified???

I am loving this competition. But with two matches a day to watch and all the wanking I have to do there is no time for work.
