I get tested at Medilab in Salford, Manchester every 4 weeks exactly and it costs ?120. Now that i live in Reading i was going to find somewhere closer to do them, but my local NHS GUM clinic won't provide certs and anywhere in London either takes 2 weeks, or is more expensive. So for now i'll just stick with where i usually go.

i also go to paddington hospital, its free there and i havnt ever had any problems, certs are back in around 5 days and theres not a long wait in a crappy nhs waiting room for the tests..... i try and go every month but some months i dont do any work. i would be more then happy to place my certs on a database, it would help models not hinder them, i dont see what all the fuss is about!

Hi Everyone,
I suport the idea of the new database.
One issuee that I dont think has been mentioned is it will help stop std rumours about performers.
I worked with a performer and some time after the shoot they found out that they had an std and the performer blaimed me and instead of contacting me they spread a rumour round the industry and my shoots were getting cancelled and I had no idea what was going on. Until a performer asked if I'd have an std recently and I found out what was going on. As it turns out the performers partner gave them the std after our shoot and they blaimed me for it and spread rumours and lost me alot of work. If the database had been around then this wouldnt have happened as my certs would have been online for models and producers to check.
Also it will help stop fake certs. I refused to work with a performer once as it was clear that the certs were fake and it was arkward as the performer didnt take it very well and caused a scene which was really embarrsing for everyone at the shoot.

I get tested at:-
Whittall Street NHS Clinic in Bimingham
Every 2 weeks as it takes 2 weeks for the results to come back.
Its free to get tested and for the cert.

And sometimes I go to:-
Telford NHS Clinic at The Princess Royal Hosiptal.
It takes a week to get the results but they dont like testing me as they say its a waste of time and resources.
Its free to get tested and for the cert.

It would be great if the NHS got involved with the database, sometimes when I go to get tested the staff dont even know what a cert is. If the NHS got involved then the staff which be more likely to understand more about the industry and why we need certs. One nurse at the clinic thought it wasnt legal to work in the adult fim industry lol

Good Luck with the database, hopefully it will lead to a safer and smoother run industry.
Paradise x

I have to agree Paradise,

The attitude towards the sex industry at Manchester Gum Clinic beggars belief and thats why I started to go private (also the fact I was losing out on work due to the incompetence on the NHS' part to actually get my results back when they said they would) ..Considering the Helath Service pump Millions into promoting safe sex it really is astounding that they treat people who are actually really trying to look after their health with regular checks with such disregard..

I have to agree with William too with regards to wanting to see ORIGINAL Certs before a shoot (not an email or a copy or a fax)..anyone who is so naive/absent minded/stupid as to not carry their certs with them really shouldn't be in the Industry and as far as I am concerned there are no excuses..

Ok William,

I really do not know who you are, I have asked and nobody I know seems to know who you are either. I do not have any problem with your opinion, it is yours after all.

However I really do find it amazing and unbelievable that you feel the way you do, if you really are a performer and care about your health.

Hopefully when I get a chance later tonight to type up and try my best to explain to you how a similar system in Prague runs then you might see the benefits.

I just want to try and present the benefits of bringing this to the UK, but yeah I guess you are entitled to your opinion. I hope that you continue to develop as a performer and perhaps when you have a little more knowledge and experience in this business then you might realise that your paranoia is truely unfounded and honestly, ridiculous.

Whether you work with one person or fifty people during the time period of your test, the fact that you show them your test means that, oh no! people know your a sexually healthy person!!(?) Shhh! Its so secretive, imagine what they can do with that valuable information! Get over it, the only person who actually cares is you and why it is a big deal that your results are online I really do not understand?

If you ever aspired to work outside of the UK, Prague or America for example then you really will find it VERY hard to get work without being on their databases as their industries really do care about their health and also about stopping the spread of any outbreak. Outbreaks of which they have both witnessed the stress and fear of.

Prevention is DEFINITELY better than cure, especially when they don't even have a fucking cure for the BIG ONE!

Finally, no I am not anything to do with the UKAP. No I am not getting off at the sound of my own keyboard. No I do not in anyway need to kiss ass or make myself look good.

I am just a performer, the same as the rest of you.

I would just like to see our industry have some kind of unity when it comes to health.

I would like to do anything I can to create a safer working environment.

I would like us to have the information and knowledge to make informed decisions about our health.

I would like us to have the tools to quarantine, control and isolate the viruses and infections that are a REALITY to us as performers.

I would like to try and consider more to my life than just sticking my dick in pretty girls and making money.

I would like to stop feeding the trolls, arguements and doubters and just get the information that has been asked of us together so that something good, productive and progressive can happen to our bitter, paranoid and self loathing UK porn industry!

I now know I am asking a lot... but I am still willing to put my neck on the line and fight for what I believe is right.
