Yes, normally they would do. Whether the 30 day system provides a 'safe place of work' from a H&S perspective is of course an entirely different debate!

I would be quite interested to hear from both models and photographers how many of them have performed/shot a scene then slept with the model/photographer.
I suggest that, if you really want to know, you try to book a girl from the circuit for a scene with a legit stud then try to have sex with her afterwards and see whether its the irate boyfriend or the police who visits first lol.
Sometimes the scene is a gonzo-type scene so the girl will be performing with the photographer/director in which case he will have certs. As far as I am aware though its not a common occurrence for professional porn girls/models to do the photographer, its a bit of a misconception by people outside the industry. Its certainly frowned upon at my local studio. It does happen, because just like in other occupations if you do the boss you get advancement. Porn is no different. I shouldnt imagine thats the only reason it happens though. Some girls do escort and if arranged may well sleep with the photographer, this isnt part of the shoot though it is a separate private matter which is their right to do so as long as they dont put anyone at risk. I think most porn girls rely on their porn work and as such take great care with their sexual health.
You also have to remember not all photgraphers are above board and totally honest, and will use the pretense of a shoot to try to sleep with a model. I dont think there will be a single girl on this forum who doesnt get the regular emails from the " I have a video camera and a budget of ?150, The location will be my spare room" email.
I do believe its pretty much a tabloidesque misconception.

I think perhaps you've hit the nail on the head harmonyluvver in terms of what Centrestage was alluding to:

i.e. situations where the pretence of a shoot is used to 'shag' a model (though not necessarily sleep with her afterwards!)?

If I can put it into context and ask a question - as an erotic artist, what would the situation be if, for example, I were to book a model, and give her a shag whilst taking a few photographs of the act. I then go and turn said photographs into a series of paintings, which I sell (or at least attempt to sell) commercially. Would that be considered by models as a legitimate shoot? (Not that I have any plans to do so I hasten to add!!)

I imagine if you were taking photo's of the act to turn into paintings later on you would be more interested in getting the angles and poses correct than "giving the model one". I think you would also have outlined what you were expecting from the shoot and what it would entail. You wouldnt simply be booking a girls for a shag with the resulting material for wanks in the future and making out that you were working on some kind of project.
It comes down to motive and intent really, which is always gonna be a bugger to prove. So long as people are honest and up front with each other though there should never be a problem.

Photographers/producers are seen to be the predators here and the models the victims.

It can work both ways. I hardly consider myself attractive ( middle aged, overweight etc.) but out of the 60 or so models I've shot in the last couple of years I've been propositioned by four - for varying motives, I'm sure.

Models are having sex with the producers????

How come I aint gettin any then.

Er..Dont answer that! LOL

Ok I guess I could if I really wanted to but to be honest, shooting movies always comes first. By the time its over and the girls covered in some blokes harry doesnt actually put you in the mood much.

Well said MelodyChase like you we think live & let live, we have a good network of friends in the amateur industry that escort. The people we speak of are not girls on the street (nothing against these girls) but escorts working from their own homes/Hotels who earn far more than most models would dream of, one of our mates is buying a second home (tax relief) advised to her by her account & when she pulls up in her new car you think fuck! i'm in the wrong job. We have an healthy mixture of friends in the Am & Pro film industry because we don't judge anyone, both are as good in their fields & choose to stay on their side of the fence, knowing these people helps us understand why they do what they do. People are entitled to their comments but remember if you plan to be long term in this industry open your eyes a little & think of everyone as equal.

Interest thread

We all know porn stars escort all the time - some major names are currently working outside of the adult industry.

There are also a lot of hypocrites who moan at this but also do it.

I say live and let live provided everyone is tested and takes precautions.

It's people posing as producers/photographers that are being put forward as the predators. It's not really a case of anyone saying poor models they have these awful men leering after them. If anything this thread has suggested models constantly sleep with anyone or at least posed the question, do they?
