Well what about McCartney trying to Claim 70% of Authorship of In My Life, when he had no hand in that! Also McCartney in the Beatles was a genius and every bit as good as Lennon! He is A Supreme Melodist & one of the greatest singers & Bass players of all time. Though his solo work does leave a lot to be desired & he has made a few stinkers. And there is no denying that he is a bit of a twat now & the whole i am trying to be young & cool & marrying Heather Mills & dyeing my hair red totally backfired on him! Anyway the real genius of the Group was George. So There!

Lennon wrote the song. It started off as a story about his childhood and mentioned lots of different place names in Liverpool including Strawberry Fields & Penny Lane. A full year before he wrote Strawberry Fields & Almost a year and a half before McCartney Wrote Penny Lane! This soon changed to be about reflection of the past. Lennon was really proud of the lyrics he wrote for this & regarded it as his first serious piece. He also claimed credit for the Music though did concede that McCartney wrote the music for the Verse Harmony & the Middle 8. Though McCartney claimed more than this & said he wrote all the music & helped with the Lyrics. Which he said he wrote on a Keyboard & that it was Miracles Inspired. I don't see how he got this as the song is nothing like the Miracles & i would say it was a more Lennonish song. With one of his best vocals!
