Yes, it was very good. The bittersweet original music really helped it.
Traditionally, the war was called "The War Between the States" in the South; the U.S. govt.'s official name was "The War of the Rebellion"; Grannie on "The Beverly Hillbillies" called it "The War of Northern Agression" lol.

"I, Claudius" was very good. The NBC mini-series production of "Shogun" from about 25 years ago was also excellent--an extremely entertaining book too.One of the few of such length that I was truly sorry to see end.
