It was the Court of Appeal who decided that the original sentence was unduly lenient and it was the Court of Appeal who increased it.

the same baroness scotland who was employing an illegal immigrant and probably should have faced charges herself for failng to check her cleaners papers properly? or am i getting mixed up here?
even if the sentence was increased is there still no chance of an early release, if the old addage of at least a third off applies she should be due for parole soon?
models/pornstars don't have much luck in my local courts, see post on here re louise glover.

Its the same woman,Kyle.
It appears that no remission is due because Mel didnt plead guilty.
I expect they will make an example of Louise too....makes you wonder how Cheryl Cole got off with her charge of assault but then shes in touch with the right sources??

"yes in other words Baroness Scotland"
As previously explained it was a routine referral and if someone else had been the Attorney General it would not have made any difference.

Thats utter crap.
There is no set guideline to say that because she appealed, her sentence would have doubled.
Your attitude on the matter has puzzled me from day1.......have you no sympathy for Mel?Read the case in full, old boy,and you might change your opinion.I have and its obvious her boyfriend is a shit.
I would dearly love to meet him in the wrestling ring anytime......its so fucking easy to beat a woman up as all cowards know. And he is one of them

She didn't appeal the first sentence did she? The increase was due to the judges 2.5 years picked up as lenient.Unfortunately there seem to be a few posters on here convinced she got what she deserved or should have been put away longer. However, this lowlife bloke is still doing the same things now and is discussed on various local sussex forums.I can only say again that the first jury reached no verdict.
So, if she changed her plea to guilty whilst inside she'd probably be getting close to release by now?

She didn't appeal. You've got that completely wrong.
The point I am making is a legal one, i.e. it is the Court of Appeal which reviews sentences, and not the Attorney General as you seem to believe. Whether I am sympathetic to Melissa Walker or not makes no difference.
