Thing is they dont Satine. Most people go on like they have an "S" On their chest and are impervious to std's because thats the sort of thing that only happens to "gays" and "junkies" until one day they get a rather nasty shock then look for someone to shoot down in flames to blame.

I agree with Terry but there will always be someone who will do it with out,so we are on a losing battle. Condoms should be worn or worn if the model wishes them to be and it should be up to the model who shouldnt lose work just because they care about their health.
The certs are not worth the paper they are on as it takes 2 weeks to get the results back so that test is so out of date even before you begin and as it takes up to 6months to develop HIV well that speaks for itself.

Just my little 2 cents:
Condoms ARE the only way to stem the flow (excuse the pun) of infections and diseases in this industry. Yes, they aren't 100% effective but it's better than nothing surely?
Over the years, I've been told several times (both on here and via email) that I should be happy to risk my health for my job and that the amount of money I earn is more than adequate compensation for the risk.
I think it fair to say that if this is your mentality, then you are a complete bloody idiot and should have all means of communication taken away from you.
As Terry said, it IS time for us performers to take a stand and insist that our industry takes a turn for the better and ensure safe and healthy means of earning a living.
My first shoot in the States was with Bang Bros and was condom only. I doubt I need to tell anybody about the phenomenal success of their sites despite the use of condoms.
If everyone decides to shoot condom only, there will be no choice but to accept this. I'm sure there will always be people that will shoot without but I'm certain the people who actually deserve to be called "Porn Stars" will not mind in the slightest and will stand by the effort. Let's clear out some of the dross and make porn beautiful, fabulous and enjoyable for all again.
We have a responsibility not only to ourselves, our family & friends but to our viewers and fans. We need to show that condoms can be a fun part of sex and that unprotected sex is not acceptable anymore unless you're in a stable relationship (with regular testing in addition of course).

Condoms are a taboo word on here i'm afraid, you get better sense on the amateur & swinging sites where they practice safe sex.
I now have given up trying to convince the importance of them as it falls on deaf ears, condoms can split yes, they may not 100% but with so many dodgy certs going around using both seemed the only logical idea unless there is another none of us know about.
