A Sam Slater reply/Jim

Sam's replies to Jim
"I wasn't 'spitting bile' so chill out"
"It wasn't supposed to be an analogy."
"It wasn't flippant."
"No, I don't think that."
"'I forget'? What do you mean, 'I forget'?"
Sam's replies to me
"If you don't want to call it the 'main problem' then fine, but we'd just be arguing semantics."
In short, Samuel, it would appear that you have nothing whatsoever to say to Jim which could remotely be termed helpful. Your entire post in reply to Jim is denying his interpretation of what you said.
A totally pointless exercise in pedantry.
Cheers
D

If you look at my first post you'll see I happened to mention porn alongside other more mainstream forms of entertainment. Jim seems to have jumped on this when it really wasn't my main point (however true I think it is ).
I didn't post on this thread to attack porn or pornographers but it will certainly come across that way if you can make it into a lengthy thread where I repeatedly defend myself against irritable pornographers who happen to read and jump in!
To Jim: I stand by my comments and as you can see from my first post, I wasn't attempting to single out porn or attack it. I guess I should have known better as to mention porn at all given the forum and people who frequent it. Too many livelihoods and money at stake to have a serious, objective discussion.
To David: There's nothing wrong with pedantry when it suits you. Stop trolling and trying to wind Jim up.

Firstly Sam I'm not wound up at all, I was the prophet of doom 5 years ago and predicted everything that is happening now. However like David points out, your comments are totally unhelpful really. For some reason I am reminded of Norman Tebbitt telling the unemployed of a dessimated mining town, "To get on your bikes". A good soundbite but not actually of any use. The problem with porn from a creative point is that there are only so many ways you can dress up people fucking. People throw in dwarves, clowns, whips, fairy wings, circuses etc etc, but at the end of the day its people fucking, so it is either case of boredom, piracy or legislation that's killing us!

Ok. It just seemed that way from your first reply because I mentioned porn once in my first post and it wasn't really my main point. In fact it was probably just laziness from me as I was reeling off different art/entertainment types.

Whether they are helpful or not is a personal decision. If they weren't from your point of view then that's fine - I never intended them to be. I was merely adding my two-penneth worth to a thread that caught my attention.

Then that's unfortunate. It wasn't meant that way.

Or just a shit product. Don't take that as a dig at your stuff because I really haven't seen any to judge. The quality of the product IS a major factor on how well something sells, though, piracy or no piracy, and this is something I wanted to point out. Obviously that may have been a bad idea on a porn forum!
We really need a *headslap* smilie.
