This is like saying Hitler was a naughty boy

Ha ha. This made me laugh out loud, it's just a TV show man, RTD isn't an evil Dictator. Ha ha.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, your entitled to your opinion and I am to mine, I'm not an authority on the old shows as I only vaguely remember them as a kid in the 80's but I always remember plots that seemed to go on forever and cliffhangers like Sylvestor Mccoy hanging off the side of a cliff and on the next episode suddenly he's ok with no explanation....now that's a sloppy plot hole. But seriously the show gets great ratings for the BBC so obviously more people agree with me than they do with you.

The "Valiant", UNIT's flying aircraft carrier, was a pure rip off from Captain Scarlet.

It was meant to be. An acknowledgement of Captain Jack's indestuctability making him Scarlet in all but name.

Likewise the "Angel Network," I'd suggest.

See, thats the difference, I watched the old show. The difference was that ok the effects were pish but at least the plots were thought provoking. The only thoughts this mediocre shit provokes is how does someone hand that shite in and remain employed and how they lowered the standard so low, a midget limbo dancing flea would have difficulty getting under it. You`re happy to settle for mediocrity , best of luck to you.

First comments of many from wackbag, an american board

"Gollum.....Gollum???

Jesus christ....is RTD doing a McGoohan and actually trying to sabotage the series???

There's too much wrong here for me to really critique right now. I can only assume the OG forums have gotten together and begun rioting in the streets. Fanwank gone 'orribly wrong, is all I can say.

Spoiler
The pyre was sooooo Conan, and that ring scene was straight out of Flash Gordon by the way."

Why have talent when you can suck cock, be a fag and get hired through political correctness.

Speechless!

Well not quite... So by your reckoning any successful person who happens to become successful is due to a panic over political correctness, it couldn't be the fact that he has produced a number of popular and critically acclaimed British drama throughout his distinguished career?

And using an aids joke when talking about someone who is homosexual...jesus... cos we all know that aids is just a gay disease right? What you going to say next? that Freema Ageyaman should be burned alive by the Klu Klux Klan for being a bit of a ropey actress. Fucking bigot!

And that Captain Scarlet and Flash Gordon rip off?

Haven't you people heard of the term pastiche. RTD obviously loves sci fi and enjoys making referances to them, Quentin Tarrintino does it all the time and is called a genius.

Ok using ratings to judge the quality of a show is perhaps not the best way to measure it but hey just because a lot of people like something doesn't mean its crap. People may find Ant and Dec a little overrated and annoying but people like them and they have good reason to. They obviously have charisma and a great chemistry, I'm not a fan myself but I can recognise this. I'd rather have Ant and Dec than someone with no charisma at all presenting mainstream Saturday night TV (ahem Jim Davidsons Generation Game), give me Ant and Dec over Dick and Dom any day.

What a lot of people seem to forget that this series is a kids show.

I know I was disappointed with the finale, but my nine year old daughter absolutely loved it and at the age of nine, I probably would have done too.

The classic series seems so special to a lot of us because we were kids when we watched it and we overlook its flaws because of that fact.

The same applies to new fans of the classic series who are caught up with the new series.

When the episode ended, my daughter, with tears in her eyes, said "I hope Martha comes back".

She's now counting the days to the Christmas special.

I think that sums it up really. :)
