You will never stop people getting killled by guns C.J. but i think the US government should make it more difficult for people to get hold of them, instead of being able to buy them like sweets at a local store.
Tell me do you have to register a gun with a local authority when you buy one in the states C.J. or do you just walk out of the store and it's yours.

Sam, you seem to be an expert on this. Why do you think these killers suddenly "snap"? The evidence seems to be rather that their rage builds up over a long period of time. The two pissants at Columbine took the time to get hold of an illegal firearm and to make pipe bombs. They planned their attack for ages as part of their masturbatory fantasy.

Just because you, a normal person (I imagine) think you might "snap", do not equate that reaction to the way spree killers operate. If this man had been dumped by his girlfriend, that did not make him "snap", it would have been one final piece of a growing sense of alienation and rage at society and his fellows. These spree killings are an act of narcissistic suicide, the killer knows he will die, but he wants to exact his pathetic revenge on the rest of society. Yes, they happen in America, but they have also happened to my knowledge in Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, China and South Korea. In the last two examples, the killers were actually policemen using their issue firearms.

Yeah new laws would be a deterent but remember there are illegal guns out there and as I told Sam Slater the way this guy was functioning he didn't have any friends to even get one from. And no just for the record I'm not a gun advocate nor do I have one at all but I do feel for people who do have one for protection but you just can't walk out of a store with a gun ANYWHERE. They'll at the least do a background check which would take up to seven days. So you can imagine that if your background is clean you could get your gun and this guy DIDN'T have a criminal background.

Hey Robches! I'm the one who brought up the thing on "snap" killings. I agree with you on those killing sprees you mentioned and I told Sam that if he had snapped and if guns were illegal with the way this guy was he didn't even have friends to get a gun from illegally.

It's been said that it takes at least two generations for people to fully integrate into a new culture. For example, there's Mel Gibson. He was brought up in Australia from an early age. He even had an Australian accent! But because he parents were American and he spent his early years in the US, he still reverted to type. He's said himself that he considers himself American rather than Australian, hence I believe that a person can't shake their cultural background fully simply because they've been brought up in a country since they were a kid. And has been proven by the 7/7 bombers, even being a second generation immigrant isn't enough to guarantee their being totally integrated into the host society.

CJ:

I don't think this man "snapped" in the way a normal person might lose their temper over something. The evidence is now in that he was weird, a loner, wrote very violent essays, his English teacher taught him apart from the other students because she feared for his influence over the others, and wanted him to seek psychiatric help, and fellow students thought he was the sort of guy who could go postal. In short he was a classic of the kind, an absolute spree killing stereotype. He might have been planning and fantasizing about this for months, that's probably why he bought the guns, it wasn't a spur of the moment deal. That's where normal people get it wrong, they think "oh, anyone with a gun might snap over something one day" whereas in fact they don't. You hear people say "If I'd had a gun I'd have shot him" when someone has pissed them off, but in reality if they had had a gun, they wouldn't have. Legal concealed carry is a reality in 38 of the 50 states, and permit holders do not cause any problems at all to the authorities.

However, for people with the personality disorders of these spree killers, the rage against society builds up for months or years before they finally go on the rampage. There might be a trigger, such as being dumped, but that trigger does not cause the killing spree, it is just the final excuse the killer needs to take it all out on society. This cunt isn't the first and he won't be the last.

And why is being a "loner" such and indication of his instability?

It's not about someone who likes his own company, the sheds of Britain are full of such people, rather it's shorthand for an inability to interact with other people or form friendships or relationships.

Sounds like me! !shocked! Oh well, where my M16? Just have to nip down the nearest university for a mo.

But seriously, there are a lot of LONELY people in society too. You must have heard of the word? What if you are on your own and you don't like smokey pubs, violent, noisy clubs, or the rather bland other activities that we call entertainment over here? Then you're a possible gun totting mass murderer, uh? !annoyed!

>Then you're a possible gun totting mass murderer, uh?

Only if you are fantasizing about mass murder, and making preparations for it, such as acquiring guns, legally or illegally, or making pipe bombs. It's the difference between a chap who likes his own company and Travis Bickle. Not hard to follow surely?
