Its a class thing that fox hunting has survived this long. The working class bloodsports cock fighting, dog fighting, badger baiting, bear baiting went away a long time ago, as the poor didn't have a voice to put thier views forward. Not suprisingly, the landed gentry did have the ear of those who make the laws, so thier sport managed to escape.
So to the answer to the question is, no, its not a class thing, those of us who want the titled and privileged to stop fox hunting also want the gypsies to stop their cock fighting and the sink estate scum to stop dog fighting.
