'It is things like this that make producers wary because when the new changes come in next year with the BBFC many websites will be finished'

Can you explain that please?
Why will many websites be finished?

I'd like to know what the fuck the bbfc have got to do with web sites and iptv dont this huge money making company make enough from us already from our dvd's,why are they poking their nose in,to fleece us some more thats why,its hard enough in this game now without them jumping on the bandwagon, and as for having an audience with them fuck me that says it all were they in dog collars, and for a start they wouldnt be able to police it properly are they going to check every site on the net to see if they are uploading from the uk,and if it is voluntary no one would pay,the trouble with this country is all along the line someone wants a piece of it so in fact we are all working for the government as they get more out of it than us,thats my rant of the day

...for a start they wouldnt be able to police it properly

We put this to them at UKAP and they said they wouldnt have to. A couple of test cases will make everyone jump into line. They have really thought this through but it was still a grey area by the end of the meeting.

To be honest I wouldnt sweat it too much. The BBFC are just trying to scare the punters (though their words are giving the punters peace of mind that what they are looking at is legal). Try telling them that a BBFC banner on any site will make it an automatic no go zone for the surfer.

This is illegal in my view as it plays right into the hands of sites offshore taking the business away from Britain. I'm sure this can be appealed against but again a few rants on a forum will not make a blind bit of difference.

Cornish Chris said "I won't lie I find Realpuntings connection incredible for an industry organisation to be fronted by a site"

How do I "front" UKAP? I'm not on the Executive Ctte (see the UKAP website for details of those that are). I don't run the forum now, somebody else is doing that - hence the recent changes to design. All I do is pay my subs and turn up at meetings.

Oh yes and also advertise the UKAP website in my signature on here and not my own paysite like the rest of you do. If you want to personally attack me for what's happened between us in the past that's fine, but don't make widely inaccurate statements about UKAP.

So if I was not a member would you join UKAP Chris? I'm quite happy to resign if the number of Producers in UKAP would treble upon my departure. But have you got any evidence this is the case? Who are all these Producers you are personally speaking? Please name them.

Thanks OEJ for sticking up for me - appreciate it.

Hi John - I remember meeting you and you also seem like a pleasant bloke. But you seem incredibly ill-informed/gullible. None of what you say above is true.

It's pretty bad attacking someone's business online, and especially bad when your facts are completely wrong.

You say we don't do producers any favours? I have on my desk in front of me a large pile of cheques to send to producers for last month's sales, all of which I know will be happily received. By establishing our VoD site in the UK, we've provided producers with a new income stream, and most UK producers have happily placed their titles on our site.

Just to set the record straight:

1) David Sullivan doesn't own Strictly Broadband (not that I'd mind if he did!)

2) Many of the titles on our site are NOT R18 certificated.

3) The idea that we would or could take over the industry on our own is hilarious. We're just one web site - you should think a bit more before believing stupid rumours.

As for questioning why we are attending tonight? We the f**k shouldn't we? We're a part of this industry as much as you are, and we want to go along, support the growth and maturing of the business, and most important: get pissed and have fun.

So John - you need to get your facts straight, and I think you owe us an apology.

JayK despite what you may think, the few times I have met you I have always thought you to be a thouroughly decent bloke.

I must admit i did (possibly mistakenly) think you were a leading light in UKAP, but your personal involvement was never a concern.

Would I join UKAP if you were not a member ?? ... simple answer is no.
I personally don't like having to "prove my worth" to people who have been around the industry for far less time than I or others have.
I also would want to know exactly what my membership fee is being spent on.

Like i say JayK your site is an excellent idea in its niche and fair play to you has become very successful.
However, and this is my own personal opinion... I do find the connection between tested certificated talent and "escorting/prostitution" a hard nut to crack.
We recently had scares, which were fully debated on this very forum, and it was hinted at that UKAP should administer a "safe list"and inform producers of infected persons.
I did and do think this would be hypocriticle with RealPunting banners all over the UKAP site.
I know all your "punts" are penetration covered which in my opinion how it should be portrayed, but oral and cum shots are not.
My fear is Model A gets her test, then in the meantime sees Punter B who is fully untested and then catches something off him.
I know he'd find her via other means than your site, but its just the cross association between sites like Realpunting and a trade association seeking general acceptance within the popular media, I struggle to get my head around. (maybe its just me that thinks like this).

I'm now 40, maybe i'm just turning into a grumpy old man, i'm sure things never used to niggle me like they do now.

End of the day JayK your a good bloke, and i've not really heard anything but praise about you personally.

I've tried to explain my concerns (which are probably unfounded and stuffy) in the best way I can ... and I appreciate both yourself, Terry and UKAP-admin addressing them in a civil and non confrontational way.

Thank you and I sincerely wish UKAP and the Adult Awards are a huge success. (they are just not right for this jaded grumpy old man ..apologies if I mislead or misinformed).

Cheers
Chris.

Actually Jim, we're building a secret hide-out inside an extinct volcano, and once BT have fitted our ADSL, we plan to launch a special anti-porn missile from space that wipes out the entire UK porn industry. I thought everyone knew that?

So Terry, would you mind telling me how the UKAP decision to fix the fees paid to girls for any scene, to an amount well beyond the means of a small producer with a camcorder working from home, benefited all?

Since I take it that UKAP is a pressure group for producers and not a trade union for girls, I can only assume that this was a deliberate decision to attempt to exclude smaller producers from even getting a foothold in the business.
