A new member would get to see 4 NEW scenes every month together with the back catalogue of 120 previous scenes, not bad for 20 squid eh what? I also viewed one of my downconverted HD scenes on an LG 37" screen the other night and found myself saying, "So long DVD, it was nice knowing you, but its time to lay down and die!"
LOL

You can't blame Marty for fighting his corner, it reminds me a little of the string quartet still playing as the Titanic went down.

Lay down and die....... ?
Sure, I thought you said that the High street was full of cash-cows??? Last estimates where at least 10 more years on DVD.... that's a lot of time yet Jim. And they're getting cheaper and cheaper.... and the choice is better and better, you've got 4 scenes on offer? No disrepect meant... But I don't think that's value for money.... I need to walk in and view everything on offer. I like to touch my property, feel it., and add it to my collection... where applicable.... I'm not interested in owning access to someone elses server, and getting 4 scenes that I can't even change when I want to!!! At least I can check a DVD, sample it, etc, before I purchase it.... I decide what I want to buy when I want to buy it... PERIOD!!!

Some people just don't get it.....
DVD's are not on the wain.... I was speaking to a very, very large company yesterday!! They're at the top as they put it.... They told me DVD replication was still going upwards.... and that they were looking forward to the release of High Def, at the end of the year. Although Universal had started downloadable Movies... they didn't see it as a problem as the mood is that people still like to own a product. The same principle can be applied to Books ? Also Magazines and Videos are still selling too... people are still making a very resonable living from these mediums.... the internet is not the onlly way for pornographers to make money... that's all I'm saying JIMSLIP!!

Sorry, but where is this wonderful sex shop that you know allows you to do all this? I must try approaching one of the sleazebags when I'm next in Soho, I'll address him thus, in my best Basil Faulty voice, " My good man, I wish to peruse this DVD I hold within my hand, no I do not intend to purchase said DVD until you have permitted me to inspect and investigate all the scenes contained therein, kindly conduct me to your private viewing area, whereupon having watched and checked, I will consider whether or not to make a purchase!"
It brings a smile to my face imagining the sleazebag's expression at this point. Just before he headbutts you , knees you in the groin and has you thrown out with the garbage!
Funnily enough the only shops I've seen allow the tapes to be sampled, have been places that blatantly pirate the films.
By the way, every scene on my site has a free trailer that you can check before becoming a member.

You are applying the same rules for Hollywood Blockbusters as for porn DVD's. They are entirely different genres. Obviously top feature films are brilliant on DVD, with Dolby Digital etc.
I think the argument here is the future of porn DVD's

This is my point Exactly!!
..You Guys are completely obsessed about SOHO! Do you think what happens here governs the whole industry...
There are about 400 licensed shops in the country and this list is growing.. there are about 15 licensed shops in SOHO (Estimated)... the rest are unlicensed shops, or clip joints.... if someone chooses to enter one of these joints, then they deserve to get ripped off... we all know what happens in these places.... and it isn't right to poke fun at these places either.... as tragedy has happened here on a number of occasions... never mind the negative press this gives our industry; that you keep excentuating with your negative comments.... and superflous remarks!!
.... The are many shops that operate viewing booths... similar to the ones you see in the Beate Use shops in Germany... or Amsterdam... here you can sample movies and purchase them.... I'm not going to list them for you.. I'm not here to advertise... All I'm suggesting is that High Street sex shopping has changed and changed an awful lot!!!... And that you govern SOHO as a yardstick for the rest of the country... and that is wrong to !!!
... I'm sick and tired of people knocking High Street stores and going on about the internet and how cheap it is... etc... How rich do you think the guys are running these type of stores ?? Also if DVD is supposedly on the wain... then why is it still making sooooo much money... I think it's all pretty simple!!
... Good gear deserves stocking... so distributors will certificate it to sell it.. and all the rest of the shite get's left to rot on servers in the hope that somebody somewhere will pass with their hard earned cash to view it...
IF IT'S GOOD ..... IT'S GOOD ENOUGH TO STOCK..... SIMPLE REALLY!!!!!!!!!!

Who for???????? The shops and the pirates of course, not the producers. I've already said its the greedy shops that will kill porn DVD, because in the end producers will see that the internet is the only way they can make a bit of money and wake up to the fact that every time they release a DVD, either the shops will rob them and pirates are going to simply steal them , duplicate them and sell them.
