It's all very well to say that the market gets what it deserves and to some extent it does but aiming all your product at one easy area where, as you rightly say, any idiot with a video camera can produce product is a loosing game.

You are totally ignoring the "couples" and "girls" markets. There are about the same number of women out there as men and I just don't believe they all want to sit and watch the same sort of crap that a booze soaked bloke puts on on a lonely Saturday night. I can only speak for the women I have known in my life so far and I certainly know what they like(d) to watch and it wasn't chavs fucking.

A couple of years ago, as an experiment, I made a compliation DVD of some of the best bits of 70s and 80s porn (I know it was a bit naughty but it was in the name of science:-)) and gave it as a birthday present to a couple of friends in their 30s. They watched and watched it over and over again then lent it to friends who passed it on and to the best of my knowledge it's still doing the rounds. Without exception every couple that I've spoken to who borrowed it said it was the most erotic and horny DVD they'd ever seen. That proved something to me.

I really hope that this string has got some people thinking. If nothing else it must be reaching a BGAFD record in length and thoughtfulness.

BOLLOCKS! BOLLOCKS! BOLLOCKS!

The talent isn't there!!! I sell the stuff for christ's sake. Compared to the Yankee girls turning up in their droves, fresh off the bus and landing in Chatsworth every day, we are miniscule compared to that!!! I know one small-fry film producer who has 20 girls daily writing and turning up for auditions daily.!!

Never mind the European talent, now including girls from Poland ,Bratislava and Estonia... our talent cannot compare with that.... no way!!!

We need people out there getting talent here to shoot quality shoots regularly... when that happens, wealth can get created... you cannot make enough from selling to 350 licensed shops. And no mail order or internet sales.

All our best girls go to the states for better pay... and they will only pay the best girls well. We can never compete with that!!! NEVER EVER!!!

We need to create niche markets that have universal appeal and we need the talent to make the movies... that's why Evil Empire and Red Light District do so well... the studios have been built on these principles!!!

We need TALENT the Content will come..........

but the real sad thing here is that if as much effort was put in to production as there is chasing the pirates theyre output would be a league higher and surely if the quality of what is output is only dictated by proffit it must be time to go home. as captain cook once said as he rounded the horn if i were of feeble mind those fuckin pirates would get me down.

You didn't read what I said Marty. The talent to make it is here and with better budgets that would generate better product that would generate better girls.

Right and wrong bemused. You are correct in mentioning those two niche markets but that is exactly what they are. So they are therfore only a small fraction of the market. So most porn covers the bigger market which I call Four Positions & A Cum Shot. After Four Weddings.

Now if we had 70's and 80's budgets - well now yer talkin !!!!

Ah well I guess we don't see it the same way but I can't see how you can dismiss the female and a sizeable chunk of the male population as a minority.

Anyway, Happy Christmas, I'm off to get pissed an d escape this sad ols world.

All comes down to who actually buys the films don't it

From watching single mates buy 10/25 dvds in one hit compared to couples who might splash out of 1 every other month its not hard to see why Porn is aimed at the single male

Untapped markets they may be but no producer what ever their output or budget is ever going to make couples or girls buy the same amount of porn as the single male IMHO.Porn is a visual medium and males are the ones who are the most visually stimulated

Couple friendly Porn has been discussed before

Just came across these old threads whingeing about the state of brit Porn being all cut from the same low standard no build up cloth.they make for interesting reading, that is if you haven't been involved in the previous 10/15 similar threads

cheers

Why do I feel when couples friendly porn is mentioned it is with the idea that it is tame and boring so as not to offend the missus...I find a lot of couples like the old aggressive/ passionate videos within context that both parties are consenting and the act reflecting how they feel about each other...Not all great sex is pleasant to the eye and nor is it meant to be because it is all personal. This is the sort of spectrum I deal with and encourage with couples and dont feel it has to be in the realm of blandness to be excepted...hell, even raincoaters can enjoy some of the scenes...

I'd like to think when a woman is having her hair pulled, tears streaming down her face after gagging on her partners cock, both their faces contorted in the throes of sexual congress and she shoves two fingers up his arse to make him cum all over her face and they snowball the spunk back and forth between them that it isnt an act of degradation but a sacramental act of love between them...I just feel privileged to document this slice of life between two people....Maybe thats why Real Couples stands out from the standard couples stuff.

"Porn is a visual medium and males are the ones who are the most visually stimulated"

My God what a patronising comment and completly untrue in my experience, again it's the nature of the porn that turns them off not porn itself. I've been with girls who have got far more turned on than I by a porn film because of the content.

I guess I'm ploughing an uphill farrow here, don't you guys ever ask your partners etc what they actually like.
