Chopper you are quite right. I am a very charming guy.
And in my own way, much more worse than those I disparage.
But I'm afraid you've missed the point.
It's not rocket science.
Try again.
Anna, we both know you are the only bitch here. If I put a name to the turkey Santa will remove my carefully crafted post.

Primark are ok Kim. I use primark for clothing for work use. Then claim it back on expenses.

Re: A funny story about a certain model
Just doing a bit of general surfing and came across this thread and thought I'd add a similar experience to some of the above.
A few weeks ago I had a shoot planned with two reasonably well known models, both whom had worked with me before.
One of them didn't show and didn't answer her phone. I waited at the station for her for about 15 minutes before returning to the studio to hopefully catch the other model arriving. I never heard anything back from her until the evening.
Unfortunately the other model turned up an hour late and the shoot was turning into a real nightmare. I told her that I was going to reduce her fee which she reluctantly agreed, but then I took pity and said that I would pay the full fee on account of the fact the other model hadn't showed and so she would be mostly working on her own. Generous I thought considering that she was also at least an hour late for the last shoot she worked with us on.
Later that evening I received a text from the other model saying sorry she didn't come. It was because she had some 'very bad news'. That was it.
I asked her if she was OK and left it at that, thinking that something major must have happened but hoping that I'd get a more in-depth explanation at a later date.
She was on cam later that evening which was slightly annoying!
Anyway, a week or two later I tweeted her kindly requesting a full explanation for her no-show. To which I received a shitty text message back saying "I already told you it was because I had bad news" and then went on to tell me that her mum had died.
If she told me this on the day I would have been more understanding.
However, trying to be a little compassionate I said, look you didn't give me a proper explanation. You left me waiting at the train station with nothing so much as a text or phone call. If I had not showed up to pick you up from the station would you not have appreciated a text / call and a proper explanation?
I expressed my compassion for her loss and deleted the tweet which named and shamed her.
Now, is it just me or would you at least expect a text to say you were not coming? It takes seconds. I know for sure that I would, no matter what the grief. Unless I was severely injured myself! It's just professional and courteous!
And would you not expect more of an explanation than "I've had some very bad news?"
Or am I a heartless bastard?!

Re: A funny story about a certain model
Benson,
I can only speak for myself but after several cancellations based on bad news which are at best an exaggeration and at worst later found to be total fabrication unless I'm really confident they are genuine natural instinct becomes to assume otherwise.
My experience is models will text saying myself / relative / parter / baby ill, childminder has let me down, problem with car etc. rather than the the truth of I was out on the town until 3am and now have a raging hangover, I have got a last minute easier / more lucrative booking or even simply I can't be bothered to work today, I have decided to spend it with boyfriend etc.
I've never been in the situation of being on the way to the rendevous then a message or arrived but a no show. If the model doesn't confirm she is on the way I don't set off since virtually always she will have the longer journey. I haven't directly been out of pocket either but I have effectively wasted numerous days booked as holiday from work.

Re: A funny story about a certain model
I totally agree with you mate because i would say some of my best shoots have come from amateurs. Some of these professional models (not all of them) can be more bother than what they are worth not being funny putting out post like that about models and the industry he might find out nobody will want to work with him.
