That is true, good point.
The advisor basically wanted me to do market research to confirm what I had already told her but that's cool.
I have the ideas and I will make it work.
In reality, I won't ever be able to retire on it because I have a full time job that I love so I can't dedicate 6 days a week to it like Benson (although I wish I could!).

The business advisor was just a step for me to use to see if what I plan has any merit.
I have no business accumen or history and as such I just wanted some professional advice really.

Thank you guys sincerely for all taking so much time to help me out and give me advice.
There is loads of it and yes it is contradictory and a little confusing but that is to be expected and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love this site, everyone is helpful and happy to give a little time to a Noob.
I am going to go ahead with my plans and start to shoot some content fairly soon I hope.
I have had loads of advice about camera's so I think I will fork out for a Z1. Pricey I know but I want to be able to do HD eventually and at least it also does SD.
I have had some great advice about laptops etc so I think a 172 Macbook Pro will be suitable to start editing the content and I will also be able to produce my own website with Apple's own software.

My next thing.... now this is pretty cheeky and please feel free to tell me to poke off......

Would anyone (for example Benson-Media, One Eyed Jack, Beck Images, Holly D, VideoKim or one of the many well oiled and well practiced production companies) consider allowing me to tag along to a shoot or 2? I want to learn what goes on, I am not a young immature lad who just wants to get off and I would obviously be as quiet as a mouse.
I know this is a big ask but I thought I would put it out there. If you would be happy but not on this forum, please feel free to email me direct.

I'd definitely recommend the Mac - iMovie or Final Cut Express will certainly get you up and running with video editing. If you're doing stills as well, then Aperture is also worth a look.

I'd save some cash and go for the 15" MBP, you can always get a larger display for it later.

Don't expect to make anything suitable using iWeb, it's really not up to the task.
