Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
Just watched that clip on youtube.
I have to say its not tv that makes porn look bad. In some cases it is the people themselves in it who are ill prepared to do it.
That clip looked like the sort of thing that could go wrong on a day. Its not all rosy as people think it is and if the adult industry want to show that side then that wouldnt be correct either.
Clips like that dont do the industry any favours but thats the reality being in it. Ive seen much worse go on in Europe. When I was in Denmark, the producer we worked for there physically picked up a girl who was being amajor pain in the arse with a hissy fit and put her on the door step out side his studio and shut the door in her face.
As they say, shit happens and the producers on the day were privvy to seeing what they filmed so therefore they exploited it because those present allowed them too.
So no sympathy there on my part.
They were shooting a documentary. Not a promo. Its not as if they fashioned that out of all the good stuff.
That clip should serve as an example of how things can turn out if thats the reality of your shoots every day.

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
I appreciate that crap can happen at work and porn is not exempt from it. Nevertheless my point is that it will be the negatives that are dwelt upon and become the theme.
Just more and more reasons for disliking porn... etc... etc...
If the shoot you mentioned in Denmark had been televised I imagine that this would have been held up as a typical day in the horribly abusive life of a model and anything good about the shoot would have ended up on the cutting-room floor.

Channel 5 is a "different kettle of fish" (as my old dad used to say).
Good luck with defending 'immorality for cash' on a family channel.
Seriously - good luck because if you are made to look bad we all end up looking bad.

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
thanks for the email but no thanks! I'm not gonna be humiliated on your fair debate.
My dad was caught out in an article (nothing to do with porn) he did by so called fair reporter.
So you got no hope.

Dear James not Bond,
Thanks for your witty intelligent comments. Maybe if this career doesn't turn out the way I hoped maybe I'll consider it but for now, I think I'll stick with this line of work.
Cheers,
Vickie

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
Dear Cockney,
I appreciate and acknowledge the fact that many documentaries on Pornography have, ultimately ended up slating the industry and the people who work in it. I personally feel that this is due to the horror stories that seem to emerge when we begin to interview people who get back to us and the reticence of people who are happy and healthy and working in Porn to be involved.
I'm not going to start telling you how our programme's different and you should take part etc. etc. etc. but this is why
We are desperately looking for Pro porn stances too but these seem to be the hardest to find.
The general moral stance in the UK is that the sex industry isn't exactly a hotbed of upstanding morality etc. so, from a research point of view, I'd like to hear why you think the contrary.
Anyway, all the best to you,
Vickie Munro

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
Dear Dave,
Thanks for your reply and offer to film the doc. for us. To be entirely honest, I'm sure we would get further with an indusry insider but unfortunately, I'm afraid it's just not on the cards.
Just a point of interest though, how would you guard against balancing pro and anti porn stances as you would obviously be going into filming with a pro-porn attitude.
Also, I'm aware that not everyone that works in Porn has had bad experiences previous to or during their Porn career but, the majority (NOT ALL) of people we've spoken to who've exited the industry do tend to have a rather negative view of it.
I'm not being funny here but could you explain to me why this is? Are they liars? Have they had a twisted experience? Why do you think people enter the industry, why do they get out??
Throw me a bone Dave (and not that kind before you say it!).
Cheers,
Vickie
