I have in the past attended similar allegedly "impartial" debates about legalisation of pornography! The organisers stack the auditorium with vocal anti-porn trouble makers, the usual array of religious zealots and ultra-hard lined feminists. Also, the chairperson by couching the questions in such an anti-porn manner is not to be trusted. This means that anyone who is arguing the case for pornography is going to get slaughtered!

I would suggest that if anyone from the UK adult industry is persuaded to attend this event they should bring with them their supporters, backers and anyone who believes in freedom of expression.

That is an excellent speech- better than some you can read in Hansard [or the Oireachtas, convenor].

I must say- and I write as someone who adores Ireland and both admires and respects the struggle for independence in 1916-1922- that given the Irish press' sensationalism, I am surprised that Wendy herself did not get 'annihilated' in that press and media.
