That scene was hilarious though and I agree...The film is nothing short of genius but thats what i like about Tarantino movies, He has his own style. Who cares about historical accuracy in big screen movies? I go to be entertained."
I point out two notable sentences. "That scene WAS hilarous and It's nothing short of genius".
How could you come to that conclusion if you hadn't seen it? The whole tone of the thing reads as though you'd seen it.

Tarantino says in the interview I originally linked to in my OP that this film will create a dialogue about slavery and people will start discussing it in a way they've not done in the USA for 30 years. I don't know what can be achieved by that, the thing was evil and will always rightly be viewed as evil. I watched a programme last night on BBC2 about the Industrial Revolution, one thing it mentioned was how Britain got rich because of slavery and the Transatlantic Trading Triangle - between the UK, Africa and the West Indies/North America. They showed some of the conditions in Antigua where the slaves lived, and it was terrible.
They also mentioned how Britain transported about two and a half million slaves from Africa to the West Indies. It is all really really bad and something we should be ashamed of as much as modern-day Germany is ashamed of the Nazi era. There is a millionaire district of Bristol called Clifton which is all posh squares, crescents and terraces, and all the money to build that district came from the slave trade and the selling of tobacco. If I was from Bristol, made some money, and was in a position to move to Clifton I think I would have reservations about doing so as I would constantly be reminding myself of how and why that area was built.
We were one of the leading nations in campaigning for the abolition of slavery though, and we 'policed' a lot of coastal areas of west Africa for many years later on to stop other nations transporting slaves. What is interesting is every person in Europe (many other nations were involved in this too) who has a forebare who ever smoked tobacco or used sugar benefitted and capitalised on the slave trade - so basically everyone in other words. If we as a nation got richer and were able to do more as a result of slavery, and the legacy of that is a more advanced nation today, then everyone here is kind of still benefitting from slavery. It's all really bad and something us and all Europeans should be ashamed of.

I saw that scene, well part of, I didnt see the film or scene in its entirety and of course im going to have a go at you. Youre accusing me of something I havent done nor have you any proof of.
You dont know me to be suspicious of me. i think this is a direct pop at me because you disagree with my involvement with GEIL otherwise, why make that assumption then say you are suspicious
Just take my word for it when i say no unless you have me under investigation and want to go ahead and prove a point?
I dont go making wild accusations like that despite reading things about people in the media unlike a lot of people do around here. If there are downloads going around dont assume everyone is doing it just because you think they are.

Now you're making assumptions, One Eyed Jack.
This has nothing to do with GEIL. I'd got no idea you were involved with them. I just know from the odd comment I've read from you that you're against downloading.
The way you've carried yourself in this argument has not done you any favours. You accuse me of being racist and are now clutching at straws and saying it's because of GEIL. You're insistent that I've got some sort of personal vendetta against you. Let me assure you I couldn't give two fucks about you and nor you me. Everything you've written reads as though you'd seen it. That's what I'd picked up on. Simple as that.
But because you blew your top and started foaming rabid responses instead of staying calm it has just made me all the more suspicious of your honesty. You could have shut me up from the start easily. But, no, you had to start spewing bile and accusing me of being racist and shit. When people protest vehemently about something it's always because they're lying and have got something to hide. And seeing as though you've made a big thing about downloading you can't be seen to be watching a downloaded film, now, can you?
And how you've managed to form an opinion of something you've never seen or seen in full is quite perplexing. Again, your posts read as though you've seen it.

I've spoken to quite a few people that did as well but it was always a downloaded copy.
Just out of curiosity how did you get to see it that early?

Well Im hardly going to be advocating the merits of it being a producer am I?

I couldnt care less about being popular on here. Take me or leave me as you find me. I'm not a bad chap but Im not begging for friends either. Vendetta is a word youve used. Im responding as man who was wrongly accused, said "no I didnt" and you just wouldnt accept that by accusing me of lying. I find that rude.
You are using my responses as an excuse because you dont want to apologise.
Its ok, given the tone of your post I wasnt expecting one anyway which is why I assumed it was about my involvement with GEIL...Otherwise what the point of pushing further with it?
I saw plenty of clips, trailers, promos, part of scenes from the internet, youtube, slots with Tarantino on TV and film reviews before the 13th AND I already had the script as well
The reason I bought my colour into it is simply because colour seems to be the core of every problem on this this forum and is the first way i see it when you tell a man one thing but he is still insistent he was right about you when he doesnt know you as you say "we dont give a fuck about each other"
Heres a tip: I would prefer we kept our arguments formal and polite than go down the cussing route cos I might get raw, as you said, the way I carry myself does me no favours.
Maybe I dont give a fuck

Jack:
You haven't apologised for saying I'm racist. You've accused me of trying to dig dirt on you, called me racist and think I've got something against you because of GEIL. All I said was you'd watched a copied film. I don't really have anything to apologise for. I can only go on the things you say and the way you say them. I've already said I'm big enough to say sorry but you haven't really acknowledged any of the points I've raised. As I said before this whole thing got me curious because of the way you worded things.
I see you have a flare for the melodramatic. "Wrongly accused"? Come off it! It's not that big a deal. It's not like I was accusing you of murder or kiddie fiddling. I just found what I percieved to be hypocrisy interesting and I called you on it. I've reread my post and, to be fair, I should've asked you about it and not stated it as fact. As I said before this whole thing got me curious because of the way you worded things. You could have shot me down easily and I would gladly have apologised. But you didn't. You took this huge ridiculous offence to it.
The thing that I really don't understand about all of this is why you've not acknowledged that your post does read as though you'd seen it. It was that that made me think that you'd seen it. Reread it. You have to admit it does give off that impression.
But I do have to admit that this thing has got out of hand. It was meant to be a simple post.

TA: You could have shot me down easily and I would gladly have apologised.
Really?? You couldve done that when i said no but here we are
TA: You took this huge ridiculous offence to it.
Yup. people who are offended usually do
TA: I see you have a flare for the melodramatic. "Wrongly accused"? Come off it! It's not that big a deal.
It is for me. Thats why Ive taken it this far. In fact I'll go a whole lot longer to prove Im offended. Especially when i know Im not going to get an apology. Ill make a 3 course meal out of it. Thats the kind of guy I am but you wouldnt know that because you dont know me
TA: But I do have to admit that this thing has got out of hand. It was meant to be a simple post.
I agree. You shouldve just accepted my answer and left it at that. Ive apologised to many when Ive been corrected here in the past and it seems it is seen as a sign of weakness. Brown nosing if you like. I've been accused of that too. Just seems some are not interested in extending me the same courtesy they might reserve for others which is why things always get out of hand
Shall we continue?
