Gold is pretty predictable. The price bumbles along doing nothing until a crisis occurs, then the price rockets by enough to make it worth holding it for 10 or 20 inactive years. Perhaps he thought there would never be a financial crisis ever again, but there tends to be a major one at least once a generation, and one every 10 years is not rare.

Sounds like logic to me
They've made themselves into the 'Conservative Minor partner party' by backflipping on key issues which make them appear like they never meant what they said
Thats an own goal in anyones book
Our Australian democrats(who once got 20% of the vote)did a similar thing with the Liberal/Conservative government by allowing a GST(Your VAT)to finally get through senate(house of legislation review where they held the balance of power).
After that they were never anything but a protest party who never got more than 1% of the vote
Bit sad really given that means the 2 parties who fuck up everytime their in power get to play pass the parcel for ever more.

You really crack me up David,!laugh!!laugh!!laugh! you can't even fart without frantically thumbing through your "New Labour Handbook" to make sure it's ok!
You lecturing others on "Evenhandedness" is like an old Nazi at Nurenburg, saying, "Come on folks, on balance Adolf, wasn't that bad!"
You have absolutely no conception of the meaning and application of "Evenhandedness". To be even handed, you must be capable of balanced and independent thought.
You know that you are incapable of this. You are a mouthpiece of New Labour, nothing more and nothing less. 24/7, 365 days a year, this is your job, to spout New Labour, "Thought", policy and revisionism.
Anyway, here is an example of evenhandedness in action:
Norman Lamont was a stupid twat in 1992
Thatcher was a deluded nut ball for selling our country off.
Tony Blair is a war criminal
Nick Clegg has killed off his party
David Cameron is a wiley, 2 faced, spin-spouting, sleazebag who is as bad as anyone In New Labour.......and THAT'S saying something!
and
Gordon Clown was a stupid twat for selling off our most valuabe asset.

Sorry if these have already been mentioned, if not they are worth a look, as of December 2010 various holdings of gold:
US 8,133 Tons
Germany 3,401 Tons
Italy 2,452 Tons
France 2,435 Tons
UK 315 Tons
UK rather much running on empty!
