I can't speak for other people Max but all my family and friends are aware of what I do for work - I just wouldn't be able deal with the pressure of living a double life and waiting to get found out!

Perhaps others do not tell their family and friends as maybe deep down they feel they are doing something wrong and fear rejection. Perhaps its easier that way or perhaps their families wouldn't accept it.

I would imagine, like its been said, that all families and friends of the person concerned find out in the end. The fact the individual was hiding it from them, or that the person said "I was dreading telling my family", confirms in my view that the person KNOWS what they're doing is wrong and bad.
