But IIRC he didn't commit any violence during the robbery- so
why was he punished just as severely? The 'tea-boy' thing....

OK, he escaped [add: 2 years to sentence], but as others have
said we could really have done without his 'repatriation' as an
expensive invalid- it was more about certain Yard egos and the
Govt's need to seem strong on L&O......

Right; so life-sentences act as 'deterrents'. do they, just like
hanging didn't?
One would therefore expect crime to exhibit a steady decrease....

"Jack Straw has reached the right decision, probably in his case
by a fluke".
Yep; a fluke. His judgment is very poor.

"Biggs can serve the rest of his sentence, they have hospitals in
prisons and he can die there".
No, let him die in a freezing flat on a basic pension, rather than
have us pay ?1000+ per week for his keep.

"This will deter other people I think you will agree".
Don't make me laugh.

Like so many others: MPs, paedos and drug-dealers included; so
why single out Biggs particularly?

Who of us ever thought that?
I met a few of these, including Charlie Kray and that other guy-
Charles something? Always smartly-dressed, used to use pliers
on people's fingers.... and they were evil bastards, the lot of
them.

My only naughty thought is: if we had a few of them around today,
the council-estates in South London would be a lot safer for
pensioners and single mothers..... I know, I know; but even so...
