I suspect crime figures are derived from reported crime, not detected crime.

Phil,

So the head of the porn squad had already been briefed by the Home Office as to carry out the spirit of the forthcoming "violent pornography" bill before it became law!

Not to worry there will be plenty of American SM and bondage available in Soho.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.? So said Edmind Burke (an Englishman and 2 centuries dead- how little have things changed) - and never has it been so important for anyone to offer opposition to evil

She may piss people off, she might even be ugly, but she provides a balance to totalitarianism and in so doing, helps maintain the few freedoms we have, which, ironically includes the freedom of speech thingy that means people get to slag her off

Trouble truly is though, who and where the word evil gets defined - any answers?

Buckley,

Thank you for your observation and it is so apposite. England is now an authoritarian state and sliding faster and faster down the slippery slope of the police state.

Valleywater,
Any patriot would fight to preserve the civil liberties our forefathers fought for and won over the centuries and which are now being taken away forever by Big Brother.
