I think he did a cover of 'if I had a hammer' and a song called 'the ballad of bilbo baggins'

Sad? Yes.

scary monsters side 2 was very complex;loved alladin sane and diamond dogs.but he ruined alabamba song&knock on wood.

yes steve56 he has done some dodgy covers.

Scary Monsters was surely his last truly great album. The rest of the 80's was a train wreck for Bowie. Have you noticed a lot of geniuses had a shit 80's? Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Martin Scorsese etc.....

Had to be Dark Side of the Moon, nothing else comes close...Anyone see the last tour where they did the whole album from start to finish..what a gig
