Furthermore Jim if we were to not have a say who is a producer or not then it would totally negate having a password protected forum as that would mean anyone calling themselves a producer would be in when they have nothing in common with the people who produce in this industry already. I think we already have the system you refer to already. its called the BGAFD.

Hi Jerry

Me & Kim have always found you a nice bloke when meeting you a couple of times & this is not a personal attack on you but the company you present don't do Producers any favour so why have you been invited as a guest the awards?
It is things like this that make producers wary because when the new changes come in next year with the BBFC many websites will be finished.
Strictlybroadband because it is owned by David Sullivan will walk it because he is hand in hand with the BBFC & all the material on the site has an R18 cert so it is in great interest to him that these changes happen, it will give him the monopoly on the internet as other will go down the pan.
Are main things like this discussed with Producers & will it only be members of the UKAP that will be ready for these changes and most importantly will they side with said companies to safegaurd themselves or worry about the industry as an whole.

John

Again Jerry you are a nice bloke & the above don't reflect on you as a person just the mad way the industry operates.

Perhaps the Oscars should do what UKAP are doing and put films up that have'nt even come out yet? How do you think that would go down? I would have thought people would then also think the Oscars are nothing more than a joke

I'd like to stress in capital letters in case you didnt read it the first time: THE AWARDS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH UKAP. IT IS A REDZONE EVENT. PHIL BLACK OF REDZONE IS A MEMBER OF UKAP AND THAT IS WHERE THE ASSOCIATION ENDS.

I've been hearing this the whole weekend and I can assure you UKAP have nothing to do with how the nominations go. At least not to my knowledge anyhow.

Hi John
I've always found you and Kim very pleasant people too. I was not invited per se. The invitation is open to all producers (amateur and professional). If you produce videos then you are expected to be there like you were last year.

I do not believe David Sullivan is in cahoots with the BBFC at all. In fact if David is doing anything with the BBFC then I'm sure he is going through the prper channels to instigate this and that is how UKAP sees itself with a unified voice. David has brought about change by himself by funding it all himself I imagine and I cannot fire on a guy who was instrumental in brining the R18 certification to what it is today. I know David can be criticised for many things over the years but you cant blame a blke who has brought about significant change wantint to maintain the status quo of power.

I'm sure anyone who has done what he has done over the years would be doing the same thing. By saying this I'm not saying I'm drinking buddies with the guy at all. I just see it for what it is and find it fruitless attacking the guy when so much else can be achieved.

With regards to the BBFC and websites, what they plan to implement is not mandatory but I see your concern that if you do not get your site BBFC approved then you may be at risk if the OPU come gunning for you.

This is precisely a good reason to join an association to voice your concerns. The BBFC just happened to go to Strictly Broadband and Queensway without consulting anyone else. By the time we had an audience with them in August plans were already well underway already.

Do we agree with it? Hell no!

To be honest this is really the sort of thing that should be discussed on the UKAP forum. Thats what it is there for.

As Terry has said, UKAP have nothing to do with the organisation or running of the uk adult film and tv awards, Phil Black of Redzone is the organiser of the awards, he is a member of UKAP but the awards are an independant venture by Redzone and in no way controlled or influenced by UKAP.
If you read the awards site you will see that the awards are Redzone Pictures in association with Adult Entertainment Inc.
