To add my two penneth with regards to rates, anyone who's been here for a long time will know anyone who's ever posted willing to pay ?1000 for a shoot has been or actually is a time waster. But I worked on a shoot as photographer with Taylor Morgan, Poppy Morgan, Natalie Heck (RIP), Alyia? and Victoria Brown, where this guy had come into some money (so he told me, but didn't disclose how) and just wanted to make a personal film with some photos. He put an ad here paying ?1000 for each model. I thought the guy was insane and the girls Christmas had come early! Although one was a little bit annoyed because she had to pay (I think) around ?100 towards in an agency fee so only got ?900, but she still wasn't really complaining, she said the guy was crazy paying so much.
Also when I was photographing full time the number of emails I got from models and good models I'll add, that were under cutting each other's prices offering 'discounts' as they put it.
So peanuts is not always what producers offer if a model wants to work for less because she want to, or needs some money. I for one always asked a model her rates and some were cheaper than others. In the end I to a middle stab and paid that price. Never once did a model turn down the offer. Remember this, I never put a gun to their head, and no one said they had to take the job. They either did or didn't - but always did.
As for AW, I've never been there, never intend to, but I could probably make serious money with the content I hold, and I'm not a model...
