Then let us fight for free - I do not see why you risk going forward with a membership of hundreds (I am assuming) when if you let us ALL join temporarily for free you will fight them with thousands.

If you think about it this is in YOUR interest too - or is it just about the quick buck with you guys too?

"HELP US FIGHT, HELP US FIGHT, WE ALL NEED THIS OR WE'RE ALL FUCKED... but gimmie fifty quid first ta"

Don't add up at all.

AITA Secretary
"Together We're Stronger"

Right now we face the single biggest threat to our industry and all I see here is adverts for the fucking union.
WILL I GET MY MONEY BACK IF YOU LOSE?

Look, I will join the fight but even as a fully paid up member I would argue the need to let EVERYONE in to stand together on this one.

Am I not making some sense?

No we have a good chance to fight... but you can only join the army if you pay fifty quid subs to the Regimental Sergeant Major.

So actually you may be right...

...yes, I see now, you are right!

Well fight on your own then... I hope the loss of my precious fifty quid is bloody-well worth it in the long run!

But people use this place as promotion so it needs to be free - people would simply post adverts elsewhere and that place would be watched instead.

The reason there is a fee is that AITA have various running costs (as do all associations) and the members fees go towards paying for these costs.

All our committee members give AITA their time for free and do not get paid for the effort they put in, it us voluntary.

Membership is cheap and can be paid monthly, we are not out there to rip of our fellow friends and business clients.

Our Chairman wrote to ATVOD and IS fighting this, he arranged for a representative from ATVOD to come to our meeting to explain to everyone exactly who and why they exist and all the rules and regulations and everyone who attended that meeting found it very informative. There was a chance for everyone to ask questions and a lot of people did and expressed the fact that they were not happy about what ATVOD were doing.

We are fighting this on behalf of the industry, it might be nice if we had a bit more support from everyone. We have Open Meetings that are totally free to attend for members and non-members so get yourself down to our next one in September and see exactly what we do and what we are doing to fight this.

So this has come about and people are already bricking it and throwing in the towel!

I for one won't stop until I'm put behind bars, would anyone want to film that?? LOL

Daz, I think you need to chill hunny, ride the storm and see what happens

There are benefits to be had being part of associations than being out there batting for yourself.

I'm impressed with AITA because they do put a face on an otherwise faceless industry by representing various facets of it.

Pete Johnson would never have come out of his office from if AITA was irrelevant.

Most importantly, if this business is important to your business, ie running it legally then its good to be in the know what is going on in it.

I've learned a lot from just listening to people over the years and probably has a lot to explain for why I'm still here and doing better than some i thought would be doing a hell of a lot better than me. Its certainly nothing to do with who is best I can tell you.

That "together we're stronger" slogan of AITA resonates with me. We need more unity in the biz instead of in house fighting which is counterproductive and just allows things like this ATVOD to slip in and mess up our business more.

I like Daz spirit! He's got fire in his belly and after meeting him at the UKAP party, he's exactly the kind of guy one needs on the team! He just needs to channel that energy in the right direction.

That is, not at the ones that count but out there tothe opposition!

When I see you Daz, I see myself! !happy!
