Valentino, you dont count because you are tried and tested having worked already for Blue Bird.

Sandie, you are spot on. You are one person among many in this business that I listen to because you know how this works having served your time and earned your stripes.

It seems there was resistance to it because of the money factor.

If that was me. I wouldve paid knowing I was going to come to the attention of 20 producers, get signed to an agency and shag Renee or Wendy and watch a lezzy fanny lick out session toi get warmed up.

I just find it hilarious that people go on about the decline of the porn industry but then expect something for nothing at the expense of someone else and then turn around and blame you because they were expecting you to throw a party in it as well.

YOU UNGRATEFUL MUTHAFUCKERS!!!!

Oops my fingers slipped on the keyboard. Why isnt there an edit function on here?

Sorry Terry. I have to disagree. I think you would have seen some apetite for this if you could have shown - no - not just shown - but made a real emphasis on the point that there was real reward at the end of it.

As Sandie has correctly pointed out - for one hundred and fifty notes they can hire their own "porn model" and make their own movie. You had to show them what the potential was and thet the scheme WOULD/COULD deliver.

Let's face it, Sandie has really hit the nail squarely on the head... you can pick up a 3 CCD consumer camcorder for under ?500 these days... You can bang your product on the web witht he help of some basic dreamweaver tutorials - or even simpler - straight through Adultwork.

The porn industry is in decline because DIY is so easy. But more importnatly the UK Porn Industry has missed a beat... it's let this happen. It hasn't evolved. For years UK porn has churned out the same formulaic stuff - one scene mirrors the next, one DVD merges into another.

Now maybe if you'd have said to these guys - lets have your ?150 - if you turn up on the day, give me wood, deliver the goods - then you not only get your ?150 back, I'll pay your travel expenses... then, again, you'd have had a result. Becasue lets face it - I presume these "try outs" were going onto tape and would no doubt find thier way onto a paysite or a DVD?! To a cynic I guess that looks like the producer is in a WIN/WIN situation.... and the potential stud? Well... will he get anything out of the experinece? Maybe, maybe not... but he'll be ?150+ lighter in the pocket!

UKAP is your baby, I appreciate that Terry and I'm not ciritcising your effort on behalf of the UK Porn industry - you're arguably it's finest figurehead - eloquent, intelligent and ever so enthusiastic - so please accept my apologies if you're offended by anything I have written (here or previosuly). I'm simply saying it as I see it - something that maybe you don't see because you are so passionate about it and so close to the action.

We have always found good amateur studs from swinging sites etc, The UKAP Auditions are good if they are done for the right reasons e.g. finding new studs. If some of the guys can't get wood it would be in bad taste to use the film of them trying to get a stiffy, also does it need to be filmed as its only a audition & won't be used on download sites (or will it).
As its well known producers arranging this the men will have full trust in you guys not to embarrass them so be careful how its filmed & where it ends up & everything should be alright, the fact Terry's fronting this is good as he is one of the most fair & trusted of the UK producers.

I stick by what I said Donkeywork.

The reward they would have got at the end of their investment is work in the adult industry as two of the guys in the 2007 auditions have done.

You say we should collaborate more with the performers but did you not see their repsonse on tthat link I gave you.

Keni Styles even jumped in and said why wasnt this offer around when he started out.

He has earned his stripes now.

If they didnt pick this up from al the posts that ensued then they dont deserve to be in the industry if all they can quibble about is the cost.

"But more importnatly the UK Porn Industry has missed a beat... it's let this happen"

No it didnt!

Technology and its affordability made this happen. The same affordable technology that saw me enter the business and probably everyone else in it too.

The only difference between "us" and "them" iis that we were happy to put our money where our mouth is and make a living out of it.

Therefore why should we give the auditions away for free? It wasnt designed as a commercial venture. I wasnt earning a penny out of it and that was just to keep costs down.

The point you are missing is that I am not willing to pay for girls to get a free shag out of my expense.

I was responding to demand that was already there. It was those 37 people that wasted my time. I was given a load of names by the various producers who were not willing to gamble thousands of pounds on new talent struggling with floppy cocks.

I gave these guys the opportunity to show and prove. It just goes to show that when it comes to putting their money wjere their mouths are that seperates the real men from the boys .

If anything this should be a stark example of why the industry is in decline but all I get is criticism for the way I approached it.

Some pro guys have started out with me as individuals and paid a lot more than that for one to ones auditions. They paid the girls going rate and one of them is now an international performer by the name of Jazz Duro.

I found from al my years doing auditions that the ones who piad were more relaible at getting the job done.

Give the successful ones their money back? So that means the money comes out of my pocket? Not likely. i wasnt in it to make money out of it in the first place.

Paying for it means that people take responsibilty in making it work. Getting it for free wouldve guys for a free shag with no interest in persuing it after.

Ive been there and done that too.

Fair comment... I wouldn't dream of contesting any of that, you are far better placed to know your craft.

BUT... If two guys have established themselves as a result of the 2007 round of auditions then maybe that is something you should have really given top-billing to. I don't think I've seen that mentioned in the thread...

Speaking as an observer, I wouldn't have put any stock on what Keni said about "where was this when I was starting out" - that's the sort of throaway comment you get with this sort of thing - the "Good God! You Guys Have It So Easy These Days". I'd much rather see hard evidence - the success stories.

As for giving them their coin back - well, that was because I assumed these trials would be going in the can - getting published somewhere and you'd be making a quid out of it... If I'm wrong on that then I apologise. But again, as a casual observer I'm looking at it and thinking - "By God! That's Clever! Get The Guys To Pay All The Costs Then He Reaps The Profit From The Footage - Nice" - so again - that's perhaps something you should have made clear - i.e. "the end product will not be published and therefore swelling my/UKAP coffers - it's an entirely non-profit making thing to give YOU guys the opportunity".

Again, speaking as a casual observer, if it really was likely to lead to real opportunity and if there really was going to be non-publication of the material and no profit to UKAP/anyone involved - then I think you failed to sell the message effectively.

Take a look around Donkeywork. Ive worked with a lot of people in the industry and happy to say I get positive responses from those that know me from producers, performers and fans.

I will zealously defend my interests in all spheres. UKAP is not my association. it is one I am part of and understand the things we all discuss, even if it doesnt really effect me.

I think these are great days when we can bridge the fragmentation of this industry by meeting up with other people who are in the same game and helping each other out.

We have along way to go as there are so many different sub divisions in this business. its not just about producers.

One thing at a time. There are many levels to this business and all have their own little cliques. This is natural. Just like going to a neighbourhood where you dont belong, people will know you aint from around these parts.

It took UKAP to help bridge the gap between those producing. Attacks with negative comments only conspire to keep the business divided as I the negative comments as trying to set us back.

If it was really that much of an issue, why was it not put on the producers forum? thats what it was there for. Says so on the splash page.

Instead people with grievances would rather air it on a fan site.

It should be me accusing you of elitism

Donkeywork, some of the things you mentione in your post indicate you didnt even look at those links I posted earlier on with regards to your questions about the previous auditions.

This thread is seriously stale because it has been gone over several times already within the past couple months.

Are you new around here? I wouldnt have thought so.
