Gi

I'm with Freeserve/Wanadoo and I've had the same prob since the end of last week.

I now don't receive one notification of replies to posts here. A few other forums are very delayed and a few emails from friends have vanished :(

I got a feeling it may have been one of my spam filters... well i think it is??? i tried forwarding his email myself and it was not getting through, although I scanned the email for spam "keywords" i found none... I just deleted a few spam filters I'd set up and all (fingers crossed) seems OK....

JC, maybe you can hit me up on MSN and we can chat on there tomorrow night.

Cheers - I'll think I'll fuck off and watch the telly now!!!! and stop buggin everyone!

I had problems like this with AOL and some other ISPs, my solution is always use my webmail box :) i have 6gb box on my main mail account, and nearly 3gb on my gmail and ALL my mail goes to both accounts :)

I think no one should EVER use their ISP's email services unless they are just using the pop space and sending and recieving on their domain :)

You may want to check SORBS black lists to see if ur addresses are on there, because i have found one of my forums was added even tho email is only sent to members, some of them had been too lazy to unsubscribe in there profile so they just marked it as spam and eventally was added to SORBS :(

Yo
Looking for a web designer.
I want to re-vamp my site into flash and a bit more user friendly.
I also need to be able to update it easily.
look at my site, if you can help.. email me.

Sorry, only just seen this thread... my twopenneth worth...

FLASH should be used the bare minimum possible, and certainly an entire site made up of FLASH should be avoided at all costs.

Design whatever you want in Dreamweaver, Fusion, FrontPage, etc., (or in Notepad as I do) as simply as possible.

I don't pretend to be the worlds greatest, but the following were done by me without the use of high end web design programs.

All are simple to navigate and load quickly.

LOL @ Cenobitez! I thought the words "AOL" and "problems were synonomous!!

"And the award for the most obvious statement of the day goes to..............."

like most things AOL has its place :) it has a little policy in place that makes it ideal for someone of my old and current dispositon :)

For example

I was on freeserve/wanado unlimited, unlimited they said ? only if unlimited caps at 30gb per month, i downloaded maybe 45gb in a month and CHOP my line goes, i sign up to aol for a 30 day trial, for free, i download 60+gb and they dont care less :) so that suits me fine now :) I run a webserver on my PC, aol dont care 2 ISPs kicked me off for that.

My the original reason i signed up to AOL was their little policy of "Ban one ban us all", in that u cant IP range ban 1 aol user, you have to ban them all, just banning 172.190.x.x means ur banning 100,000s of people world wide, it takes less than 20 seconds to disconnect and reconnect and new IP range :) anywhere from 172.0.0.0 to 172.255.255.255 and the same with 93. 95. and half a dozen other primary octets :) im sure the computer savvy among us can understand how this would be advantagous :)

Bottom line for my i keep AOL :)

They gave me whatever name i wanted so i would behave and stop writting programs for AIM/AOL :) They dont care how much i download, 1gb a day or 16-20gb a day which is my maximum for my connection speed after overheads and packet loss :), and their IP policy :)

Tiscali Unlimited Broadband - 1mb download, with unlimited downloads then in iccle tiny print "Unlimited usage subject to a fair usage policy" which is MAXIMUM 1gb per day, and if you go over 2 days in a row u get capped.

Lets say u download a linux distro like i do all the time :) ur 3 or 4 times over your limit :)

there's nothing to stop you having a page that has animation in flash and content in HTML.

No probs to a man of my calibre.
