While I absolutely agree with jj on this issue in general, I would prefer a faster streaming of certain kinds of submissions, in particular (i) identifications, and (ii) corrections.
Regarding identifications: these are often triggered by some identification made on some other forum or website. The more the update is delayed the more duplicate submissions will be made, and the longer the submission queue is.
Corrections: the internet has the habit of spreading information like wildfire. Once a false piece of info is out there it is difficult to put it back in the sack, because it's being copied, people find it in 5 different locations and are then convinced that it must be true.
