Hi David, on your first few points re polls:
I tend to agree with the article I linked, the margin for error is generally given at +/- 3% so they are still pretty close to eventual outcome. I also believe the "shy tory" effect is in play here.
As for the one party state nonsense, I guess you stole that line from Nicol Stephen, Tavish Scott, Willie Rennie et al? My understanding of a one party state is one where there are no alternatives? In Scotland we have no credible alternatives! A small but important difference!
PS I will be down your way again in August for the Rebellion festival. Might catch a pint with you?
