As everyone can see, David thinks Islam needs a reformation (me too!) which implies he sees some things wrong with Islam (specifically mentioning texts).

But he's not being specific with what he finds wrong with Islam given he thinks it needs reforming. He's vague. In contrast, he's very specific when defending it.

I don't think David defends terrorism to be fair, Andy.

He just defends Islam from being in any way a cause of it. It's just a coincidence the world trade centre bombings of '93 and 2001 were Muslims. It's just a coincidence the 7/7 London bombers were Muslims. It's just a coincidence the Bali bombers were Muslims. It's just a coincidence the Iraqis bombing other Iraqis on a daily basis are Shia vs Sunni Muslims. It's just a coincidence the bombings in India are mainly by Muslims. It's just a coincidence the beheadings in London and Amsterdam were by Muslims. It's just a coincidence the shopping mall bombing in Nigeria are Muslims, and that the killings and child rape/slavery that's going on there are by Muslims. It's just a coincidence that a girl called Malala who wanted an education was killed by Muslims and that it's also a coincidence that a Canadian soldier was killed on the day Canada gave Malala honorary citizenship by a Muslim. It's just a coincidence that Muslims in Syria have joined up and are resurrecting an old Ottoman caliphate and just a coincidence they're waging a 'holy' war in the name of Islam with 'Islam' in their title. And it's just a coincidence that every convert so far from the UK, US, Belgium and France have been Muslims. It's just a coincidence the attack on a chocolate store in Melbourne was planned and executed by a Muslim, making hostages hold up flags declaring Allah as the only God. And it's just a coincidence that the attackers that killed those 132 kids yesterday are Muslims who were the religious police in Afghanistan.

Don't you get it? It's just all a bloody coincidence and has nothing whatsoever to do with Islam. Islam is a religion of peace like Jainism. And there are plenty of Jainists who go round killing people around the world let me tell you...........like........err............err..............oh............I'll get back to you on that one.

Having a conversation with you about Islam, is a bit like trying to convince the Pope that God doesn't exist. It is a complete waste of time.

Your failure to answer any of my points in this thread is self-evident. Your absolute and total hatred of Islam is irrational and very stupid.

You have a "religious" ferocity in your hatred which can only be compared with that felt by, for example, some Sunni extremists towards Shias.

I have always accepted the need for reform in Islam as with other religions. I have always accepted that the acts of Islamic terrorism are vile and indefensible.

However, unlike you, I can see the other side of the coin as well. It is no coincidence that the Western Allies looking for a buffer against Russia, invaded Afghanistan and killed thousands. It is no coincidence that the Western Allies invaded oil rich Iraq on a totally false premise and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians either directly or indirectly. It is no coincidence that the western allies bombed oil rich Libya and brought that country to complete and total chaos. It is no coincidence that the Western Allies supported the oppressive regime of the Shah of Iran against the people rising up etc. etc. etc.

I not only feel sorry for those killed by radical Islamic terrorists but also by those innocent civilians killed in "collateral damage". The "collateral damage" you never seem to express your sorrow for on this forum.

Your views are totally and completely one-sided like any "religious" maniac you condemn.

I will leave you to your mania

As everyone can see in David's post, he's being completely irrational and over the top.

Debating David about Islam is like trying to convince an insecure, loved-up, abused wife that the broken ribs and black eyes from her abusive husband aren't normal and she should fuck him off asap. She won't have it - and neither will David.

He goes on and on about me 'extreme hatred', 'religious ferocity' and ends with comparisons to religious maniacs. His irritation coming through me thinks. Everyone knows I dislike Islam (most religions really) and that of the 3 main Abrahamic religions, Islam is the worst of a bad bunch....but I've not called for making Islam illegal, I have not called for religious bans on Islamic architecture like in Switzerland, or religious clothing bans in public like France (publically called that decision out on here if you check). I have not encouraged hate of Muslims (publicly called out the EDL's tactics on here if you check). I have not encouraged any unfair treatment, discrimination or violence towards any Muslims nor hinted at any sympathy with such thoughts from others.

All in all.....if my views on Islam are in the slightest fanatical, ferocious or maniacal, I'm probably one of the most benign ferocious, fanatical maniacs you'll ever meet. If only other religious, ferocious, fanatical maniacs were as agreeable and harmless as I we'd have no problem at all!

David is pushing the definition of those words to the limit using them to describe me. Frankly, he's being absurd. This is probably due to his irritability........not with me but with Islam itself. Every time some made Muslim does something bad in the name of the religion he's so adamant on defending, it's just another dagger to the heart for him. Defending something that continually lets you down must be frustrating. And we see that frustration here today. It would be admirable if he didn't take a bronze-aged made up story so seriously. It's like he's a Muslim himself the way he gets so defensive and irritable.

You "hate" Islam. You have stated on this forum "I hate Islam". I do not.

No more to be said to the forum's "religious" maniac.

Maybe, if David is so adamant religion played no part in this latest murdering of children, he ought to take this up with 16 year old Shahrukh Khan, who was shot in the legs by the Taliban and watched his teachers and school friends being slaughtered.
18h ago

Witness accounts are emerging from students who survived:

Shahrukh Khan, 16, was shot in both legs. He survived by playing dead as the gunmen roamed the school, shouting ?Allahu Akbar? before opening fire. Khan said he felt a searing pain as he was shot in both legs, just below the knees.

I saw a pair of big black boots coming towards me, this guy was probably hunting for students hiding beneath the benches.
My body was shivering. I saw death so close and I will never forget the black boots approaching me ? I felt as though it was death that was approaching me.
I folded my tie and pushed it into my mouth so that I wouldn't scream. The man with big boots kept on looking for students and pumping bullets into their bodies. I lay as still as I could and closed my eyes, waiting to get shot again.
When I crawled to the next room, it was horrible. I saw the dead body of our office assistant on fire.
She was sitting on the chair with blood dripping from her body as she burned.
But then again, little old Shahrukh might be one of those Islamophobe types and probably made it all up. He's either an EDL member or a pesky apostate ex-Muslim who has an axe to grind. Probably shot himself in the legs too just for the effect.

You "hate" Islam. You have stated on this forum "I hate Islam". I do not.

Evil actions in the name of a religion do not provide reason to hate an entire religion such as Islam.

No more to be said to the forum's "religious" maniac, the long, long term hater of Islam.

"Imam" Slater has spoken. His word is that of the one, the only "God" that must not be questioned. Questioning the "Imam" will bring no answers to your questions but the wrath of the "Imam" upon you with misrepresentations, insults, frequent demands for apologies for apostasy and a deep sense of betrayal felt by the "Imam" due to these "personal attacks" i.e. asking the "Imam" something.

The "Imam" will state he is being "picked on" and "ostracised".

Above all else you will be wrong.

As you can see from his last response, no mention of the 'Allahu Akbar' being screamed when religious police murder children. Just goes on another rant about me.

!laugh!

Like the battered wife, he'll defend the indefensible until the end.

Brought up in the Islamic Midlands. A lone Christian surrounded by Muslims, "Imam" Slater was burnished bright by his dysfunctional upbringing.

He has given his sermon. It may be incoherent. It may entirely miss the point. It may be irrelevant. It may have nothing to do with your beliefs, but it is His word and is the only true word. What I believe is what he says

"As you can see from his last response, no mention of the 'Allahu Akbar' being screamed when religious police murder children. Just goes on another rant about me. Like the battered wife, he'll defend the indefensible until the end."

There will be a meeting in the back room of the Dog and Duck on Saturday night at 7.30pm to discuss the underlying text and truths identified therein.
