"oh well this murdering piece of shit can at last go and meet his communist hero's stalin and mao and all the others who believed it was ok to murder people for the greater good"
Well, let's assume that the "who believed it was ok to murder people for the greater good" is correct then Nelson Mandela is joining a rather large group e.g.
1. Just about every British prime minister for the last century.
2. Just about every American president for the last century.
3. Every resistance fighter who has fought against a foreign invader.
4. Every resistance fighter who has fought against a ruler that has falsely imprisoned, tortured and slaughtered members of it's population.

Is this really still being argued over? I will not gloss over the "inconvenient truths" about Mandela. But anyone one who can seriously think that the white Afrikaans regime in South Africa was anything but a disgrace and their policies and actions as a government anything other than shameful is living in cloud cuckoo land. I'm wondering where some of the above posters would have stood if they found themselves in such a regime?
The point is not if Mandela was a terrorist or a freedom fighter but rather after 27 years of imprisonment he came out not looking for revenge but rather for ways to unite the country. I'm very sorry for people who can't find some hope in that and see that this was a remarkable man.

You would think that the admirers on here of the previous regime in SA would be a little bit more graceful to the memory of the man who ensured the white minority weren't all murdered in their beds the morning after the ANC won control. Well that's gratitude for you.

Quite good at asking questions, CB. You really struggle when asked to respond to points though, don't you?
You appear to get all shy and tongue-tied. Bit like Argie. Be brave and have ago at responding to my point linked to above.

Who else can we claim to be a murderer? Well how about any politician who has voted to authorise a war. Anybody in the armed forces who is responsible for killing someone in a war deemed illegal. Anybody who has killed someone as part of a resistance movement in their own country fighting an invasion.
Well that gives us a group of several million at the very least. So how do we decide which of these people who have killed people either directly or indirectly can have their life summed up as murderers? Well you look at the circumstances of that murdering act, before and after and then look at the rest of their life to come to a sensible evaluation.
Stop being dozy!
Hi Troll, if you look at the drivel you have written above you will see that you have not asked me a question. You ask a question, answer it yourself then finish on a put down.
Now then, I do believe I was asking Andy a question.......
Don't bother me again David.
