I dont hate him nor do i hate anyone with success like his but what i cant stand are plain haters who cant really say WHY they hate something they just HATE for the sake of it.

If any single one of you HATERS were in his shoes...ohh let me guess you would turn down every single money making scheme put in front of you wouldnt you!

I think them message most loudly comes through isnt tat we hate the beckham the person (although that does implie somekind of discernable character and personality to hate) its what he stands for the greed, vanity and the shallowness that he and the assotrted masses that sell him/emulate him embody and by extension what our society as become.
its what he stands for the greed, vanity and the shallowness
But someone like George Best didn't? A womaniser who lived life to the excess who cared just as much about how he looked as Beckham does (and this is the 60s and 70s era, before the birth of metrosexuality etc). Isn't that just as vain and shallow? Are you saying George wouldn't have chased the millions available to the modern footballer if he'd had the chance?

Vanity, shallowness and greed weren't invented in the last 15 years.

I see what you did there, Arginald: agree with me that Beckham's a no-good cuntface or you must be a bit gay.

You're a genius.

Again I can't disagree but I can only comment on beckham as I've only ever known best as a tiresome alcoholic who was excused for his behaviour because he kicked a ball about..

That's a bit rich considering in public Mrs Beckham is the most miserable person you'll ever see. Perhaps because she knows that she doesn't really deserve her success ? can't sing, can't dance, can't act, can't tell jokes, can't present TV shows and has to have someone do her design sketches for her ? and her husband isn't the paragon of virtue everyone would have you believe...

David Beckham Football Star

It always amuses me to see the armchair football experts on here decrying Beckham's skills.

Of course, Fergie was a buffoon for keeping him in the team for 8 years. But we all know he is a poor judge of players.

Here's a list copied and pasted from Wikipedia of his team honours and individual honours.

How many British footballers can display a list like this?

Nobody is denying he was a very good footballer in his day, but his day was 2003, that's why Fergie got rid.

Add this to your list:
First English international to miss 3 penalties in a row for England.
First England international to be sent off twice playing for his country.

"Nobody is denying he was a very good footballer in his day, but his day was 2003, that's why Fergie got rid."

More a case of not liking his extra-curricular activities.

Despite that he was at Real Madrid for 4 years and I haven't noticed them having too many players for years in the team, who's day has gone.
