They're no longer bound by libel and slander, so it's easier for them to come forward, whether they're telling the truth or just looking for a bit of compensation/newspaper story selling.

I don't know why the women came forward this week, to accuse Jim of molesting them when they were kids. Maybe they were just very forgiving during his lifetime, didn't want to rock the boat, so stayed mute. Now he's dead I would have thought they'd have stayed mute too. But no, they've spoken out. I wonder what they think they'll gain.

The four women featured, now all middle-aged, offer compelling accounts of how they were groomed by Savile for sex when they were teenagers.
The documentary also features damning contributions from former BBC production staff who reveal that the star?s predatory behaviour with girls as young as 12 was an open secret. And a child protection expert who investigated the claims for ITV tells the programme he is convinced Savile, who died last year, would face arrest if still alive.
Singer Coleen Nolan, who does not appear in the ITV programme, revealed four years ago that she was horrified when Savile intimately cuddled her in 1979 on Top Of The Pops when she was 14. She said: ?He was all over me.

The twat is better off dead.

There was always something with this guy that didnt add up - Never heard about his kids or wife - was always in the realm of young girls and in positions to abuse - then he was heavily into charity almost like he was seeking forgiveness from a higher authority.

sleaze ball if ever there was one.

Given you have apparently worked in the tabloid industry that has been running with this story for quite a time, perhaps you can give us a steer based on your experience, with regard to the answers to the following questions?

1. Can individuals sell stories to newspapers and get substantial sums of money in return? Yes or No?

2.Can individuals and newspapers avoid libel and slander cases for their stories re. events 40 years ago, by choosing a target who died a year ago? Yes or No?

3. If you as an individual or a newspaper received/paid for that story, would you be likely to highlight/make known that you received/ got paid for the story? Yes or No?

By publicising this programme to maximise the audience can ITV also maximise advertising revenues ?

Many people who watch the programme have already made their minds up about Saville and the programme makers know this. What you will get is a programme that functions in a confirmatory way, rather than a forensic analysis.

He's dead. Typical modern docu where the hype will be more than the revelations.

You never heard about his wife and kids, because he never got married. Quite simple really.

Mother Teresa never married, never had kids, worked with the vulnerable.

By your logic, she's a filthy, perverse, molester and sleazy bitch.

If being single, without offspring and charitable is a sign of being a sex offender, then they're going to have to buy a few more of those registers....

Right, I'm off to fire bomb a few nunneries. The evil bastards.
