Not sure where 'dare' comes into it Terry. Money was found for 'The People v Larry Flint', 'Boogie Nights' and others, and for the forthcoming bio-pic on Paul Raymond. As for quality of the original material, I cant say as I've not read Mikes magnum opus, but I'm sure a script writer could be hired to whip it into shape if necessary for some director to helm. It would probably make a gritty half decent tv film; there's been plenty over the years that have gone over police corruption and/ or porn in some way. Nudity wouldn't be too much of a problem on British tv, though it couldn't feature unsimulated hard core sex as that would be box-office death.
