"It WAS the black community who were rioting in Tottenham last night."
I don't see how you can be so sure. Tottenham is a multicultural part of town. The vast majority of people there seemed to have hoods up or balaklavas. However when you look at this photograph for example, it seems to back up my impressions from the limited amount of video footage shot i.e. that it was a mix of ethnicities involved.

Riots have fuck all to do with race, or the shooting dead of the gunman the other night.
If this riot occured in Easterhouse in Glasgow or Sighthill in Edinburgh the rioters would be white. If it occured in other cities they may be asian etc.
In this case there are a group of people who want to let off steam.
They have a perceived greivance and use this as an excuse.
It happens every summer in Belfast.
It happended a few years ago in Paris.
It used to happen a lot with Football violence.
Students usually riot when their exams are over.
Groups of people like to riot and do so.
These people (Race has nothing to do with this. Lazy people of all persausions are found all over the country) are in a bad way as they don't want to work hard and improve their lives. They are lazy and turn to crime and they blame society.
They should work hard to improve their lives. Like you or I do. Once they have done that then they will have a feeling of acheivement and they will help improve their area.
This is true of all groups of all races, creeds etc.

I didn't miss any point David but warned against what can be seen as crass (in my opinion) opportunism.
I suspect it is just timing, most important of all an excuse for pond life to have fun and suggest you have a look at some of the photos doing the rounds of the smiling looters posing with their goods:

Why is it more when Tories are in office probably because the same type of scum jumped on the back of other protests when other criminality like the looting was involved.
Along with protests becoming more the thing to do when we are out of office which doesn't (with the exception of things like fox hunting) really happy by Tory opposition.

If it is only mindless scum which has no connection with anything political, then one wonders why the mindless scum didnt use the huge Countryside Alliance demonstration as a cover for a bit of looting.

People are taking advantage of the Met being leader-less at present.

As it may appear the bullet in the police radio was a police bullet, this isn't quite as straight forward as you might wish.
Re: Attempt murder of cop by black gangsta
Police in London as elsewhere are at risk of redundancy and prob have a recruitment freeze at present. There are manpower issues hence reinforcements coming in from other forces. Their hands-off approach illustrates their objections to Government cuts and will probably force the Government to reverse this policy, particularly where it affects the Met.
