Nah!
Whatever happens, our companies will carry on supplying more and more hardcore porn. I don't think they're too concerned about who deals with it.
And Blunkett not being able to see, yet being home secretary is a cheap dig.
No one here has said anything that can explain away the fact that though mailing out R18-standard material in the UK, all the major companies that sell the stuff do it!
ATTN: Vidshop
Re: Vidshop- shipping from Europe
if your brain had sufficient powers of concentration to read to the bottom of my post, you would see a reference to the discriminatory practices that mr blunkett and his fellow travellers had to endure for too long in our society.
i wasn't criticizing him for being blind (oh yeah, i always go out of my way to do stuff like that!) but to the potentially invidious situation in which his beliefs could place him!
anyway, it's all speculation for now. unlike the actions of culture secretary chris smith. he is able to wield the powers that he does, because there has been a dramatic growth in public acceptance of homosexuality and peoples right to be thus and live lives free from discrimination. quite right too!!
yet it doesn't seem to occur to him that there is any discrepancy between his own recently acquired empowerment and his use of that power to prevent other from deciding their own avenues of sexual expression/fullfilment, through images of sex between consenting adults, etc.
he has specifically used the now familiar argument about the need to protect children from possible harm through exposure to pornography, even as bigoted opponents of legislation to equalize the age of consent, used the same cynical polemic to block it's passage into law.
it just sticks in my craw that beneficiaries of progessive concepts of human rights, hypocritically deny others the same rights of self expression.
