Oh dear,
As expected you are clearly struggling. I know an unemployed person. I know a pensioner. Ergo, I know all there is on this topic required to back up my mean-spirited, misinformed, moronic view.
So in the spirit of Xmas, PH I will give you a few hints. First consider:
1. The rise in fuel prices in the last few years.
2. The huge drop in interest on savings in the last few years.
3. The substantial drop in the stock market in the last 10 years.
4. Do a bit of reading. It wont hurt!. Here's a link from the radical, left wing paper the Daily Mail.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... bills.html
Go on try to use your brain. It mightn't even hurt you!
I have given you enough help for now.
Back at Xmas to see whether you have learnt anything.
Cheers
D

"I don't need your help thankyou.I am only telling you what i know based on my experience."
Thats the point. Your experience appears very limited, seemingly childlike in its scope i.e. I know a family member who is unemployed. He copes. I know a pensioner. She copes. This leads you to believe.....
"I one can manage they all can."
Oh dear! What a pathetic statement! People are different PH. Different lives, different outgoings, different circumstances, different commitments, different characters, different capabilities, subject to different personal disasters etc etc.
"Unlike you i don't have all the time in the world to gather statistics, graphs and charts,i'm too busy working my arse off to fund the lazy."
Ah its the old "My view is moronic and mean-spirited because I haven't got the time to read and try to understand about how anyone outside my immediate experience actually lives" argument.
Obviously a dishonest argument. It takes a mere 10 or 15 mins. to educate yourself more broadly on a subject such as this. Ignorance and poverty of spirit is no defence, PH. Failure to at least understand the issues before gracing the forum with your lack of knowledge, empathy and awareness is reprehensible.
You are a man seemingly eaten up by mean-spirited, joyless views.
I condemn you to watch Christmas Carol ad infinitum until the penny (not the one you probably spend hours searching for down the back of the sofa for) drops.
Now I have really, really wasted more than enough time on you.
Cheers

Since you're so busy to read up on the subject you must have had an inkling that you're not that well informed, thus not in that good a position to have such strong feelings on the matter.
You keep telling us how busy you are, and asking where others find the time to post/read up on subjects discussed on here. I've found you have plenty of time when it comes to complaining about the poor/elderly/lazy and putting the boot in. You find the time to read our posts and complain about them. You find the time to continually ask us how we find the time.
Conclusion: You have all the time in the world when it suits you.
I'm betting that if David had come on here providing links to articles backing up your world view on things you wouldn't have implied he 'has more time' than the poor, overworked Mr. Porn Historian.
Having said all that, I agree with you in that the elderly can live on what they get. They get double what an adult on the dole gets (or it's around that). The question is not can they live on X but what quality of life X provides. Being warm, watered and fed is fine and dandy, but I know plenty of rabbits that are warm, watered and fed. Maybe we should treat humans a little better than pet rabbits....even lazy humans. Call me a radical!!
Winter payment

You have to have seven days of 0 degree weather or lower to trigger a payment. I know this because my father, who had emphysema for years (work related) used to get these.
Very very rarely.

That's seven consecutive days.
How often has that happened in England in recent years? One degree the other way and you get shit all, and most benefit claimants do not get that anyway

What do you call 100 lawyers up to their necks in shit?
Not enough lawyers and nowhere-near enough shit!
