MJs music was simple music for simple people who would be threatened anyway by anything more complicated.

Wow Reggie! You've just trivialised most of the world or at least the Micheal Jackson crowd...So because i like Michael Jacksons music I am now part of that simple crowd eh? Hmmm

If it makes you feel happier feeling you are more superior in your taste of music then so be it. Not sure how you can label a whole bunch of MJ fans as simple but hey if this whole world could be summed up by your views then what a great world it would be.

Subscribing to your analogy for a moment then maybe those guys who flew the planes into the Twin Towers should have listened to Mikeys music then. Maybe that might have changed the out come of 9/11. Maybe rapists and serial killers would do better too or any other dysfunctional person for that matter.

Sounds like a good reason to wean a whole generation to MJs music to me

I have refrained thus far with my views .
I was lucky enough to see "live "...Sonny Boy Williamson,Memphis Slim,Willie Dixon etc .
You cant compare them to Jackson as they were unique and usually pissed up when performing.Sonny Boy played the harmonica with his nostrils at times, true, but Little Walter was the best harmonica man.
Memphis Slim was in truth very average as a performer but a fine songwriter.
Matt Guitar Murphy made his guitar talk!...Bob Stigwood(promoter)often got me passes to see the great men...even Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee.
If you need excellent reviews on blues singers,Paul Oliver has written many books.
As for Jackson,I liked his music but not the person....you cant put him in the same category as the above.A lot of credit to Jacksons music must go to Jeff Porcaro and Dave Paich for his albums.
Oh and without being a bragging sod,I once fucked Timi Yuro in the Midland Hotel.I tried to also fuck Lesley Gore but she was more keen on women.Timi was dynamite,in and out of bed .lol
end of epic.

fighting hard but fighting fair

"PJ Proby was undiluted sex and he had incredible charisma. He was definitely the most impressive of all American rock acts to come over here." ADAM FAITH

"In 1964, even before Tom Jones, PJ was the original sex bomb.....

"I was the first person ever showed flesh...in this country..nobody'd ever seen a man's legs" PJ PROBY

"Mrs Whitehouse launched a crusade against PJ and his salacious pants-splitting.....

"And then she got her friends the Delfonts and the Grades to ban me from all theatres. Every Odeon, every Rank, everything" PJ PROBY

"PJ could have been a sixties pop idol, but his dream was put on hold.....

"Yes, it did ruin my career. From 64 on, I was never allowed to play in front of a teenager. I had to go up North and play the cabaret clubs.

Timi Yuro, eh countb? The name rang few bells, but now I realise who she was - and what a belting voice she had. Like Proby, her talent and personality combined to create lifelong (and after-life) fans. So if you could sleep with her, why didn't you let the countess get into Proby's caddy to see what he wanted? What's sauce for the goose......
