Coming here and working and paying taxes (and thus 'giving back' as well as just 'taking') is one thing. As is sending home money that you've earned yourself.

But why should immigrants be allowed to claim state hand-outs to support their kids ***living abroad back in their home country***?!

Utterly bonkers. But I'm sure the governments of Poland and Romania love it, as it saves them from having to fork out. They probably think that the UK is the mug of Europe - and rightly so.

Because child benefit is usually a tax allowance, and he works here, so he pays his taxes here, so he gets the benefit here.

From the POV of the EU that should not be any different if he worked in London and had his kids in Glasgow.

Oh, and you must make sure you don't settle them in places where there's already a burden on schooling and health services. Surely you understand that immigration can be both good and bad, depending on where they're located?
