Doesn't Ross live in Australia or New Zealand these days?

Nah, go back to Paul Merton's idea---Ian Hislop and Ann Widdecombe.

I'm not a violent person, but I would buy the softest, fluffiest slippers for the purposes of taking three months to kick Russell Brand to death.

Old Tarquin Biscuit Barrel used to excuse his shiteness by saying he's bipolar. He may be bipolar, but he's also utter shite.

AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Settle down Caractacus you'll do yourself a mischief, I take it back...just forget I mentioned it...

Seriously though what does everyone think of my other suggestions?

Mistry is not a bad suggestion. And the guy from Green Wing could pull it off.

Not convinced by Kris Marshall, though.

Get Robert Carlyle to play it----as Begbie.

Begbie would be amazing, the Doctor going around the galaxy head butting and glassing aliens. Inspired, but yeah I like the idea of Mistry doing it.

Well i said last week id wait and see the finale before judging too harshly.

A really bad end to a series to be honest, failed attempt at making marha a hero figure and popular with fans, and a waste of john simms talents by making him a willy wonka style master.

I dont understand how the scissor sisters bit can be classed as funny and the whole people praying for the doctor was a crap way to end it.

And a definite copy of the flash gordon ending with the picking up of the ring, tho thats probaly the point.

The titanic xmas episode donts excite me too cause the runaway bride was the worst post millenium doctor who episode ever, and its going to be written by rtd yet again.

My guess is that marthas leaving of the doctor is a way for the bbc to review freema agyemans performances and write her out of the series if they arent happy.

As previously discussed all the best episodes were not written by rtd, so dont be suprised if the bbc maybe finally decide to get rid of rtd,god i hope so.

Watched it and was not impressed at all bit of a let down .
Nothing really jelled in the episode .
The Dr turning into Gollum well you decide about that .
I was expecting Frodo to make appearance.
and as others say the regen of the Dr was a cop out.
not a good episode.

It was the master done "Shaun Of The Dead" style. Simm is a good actor but he acted too much for me it was a bit of a showcase of look I can go from happy to serious to deranged in 3 seconds. I would like to see a bit of old school who return and get an older actor to play either the Dr or The Master. Ian Mckellan, Anthony Hopkins as either Dr or Master, Stephen Fry as the Dr and bring back Jacobi as the master.

There was a news story on yahoo about Russell Davie leaving the show due to exhaustion . I now seriously hope its true.
Whats annoying is you watch Jacobi as the Master in the last few minutes of Utopia and its a spot on portrayal. You can`t tell me those last three episodes were all written by RTD. How the fuck has he kept his job? He can`t write for shit. Maybe they should call it a day now before they fuck it up any more.
