Europeans like cheesy euro dance beats and inane lyrics. Thats their idea of fun music. Its like their Motown.
Personally I think its godawful but I'm sure most of you feel the same way about hip hop. Each to their own.

I thought the staging did not suit their act.
A fundamental problem with the song was that most of the fun bits were the little snippets of innuendo throughout, not the music as such. Now consider that the Europe-wide audience only has a rather basic grasp of English, i.e. they would have simply missed all of that.
Anyway, I think Scooch deserved to do better, though they were never contenders.
The winners were just awful. Main reason they won is that Serbia have so many expats scattered throughout Europe, never mind the rest of former Yugoslavia. Same reason Germany unusally hands over douze points to Turkey, with Berlin being the third largest Turkish city. Just wait how many points Poland will pick up from the UK the next time they make it to the finals...

A very good point.
Scooch were not so bad as to deserve 19 points. The song is actually quite catchy, and had the merit of not featuring Justin bloody Hawins.
When they mentioned the favourite was a Ukrainian drag artiste, I was expecting something like Dana International, not Les Dawson in bacofoil. Sweet baby Jesus, what a pile of crap, and it came second! The winner I really thought was a boy at first, she looked like Tyrone from Corrie. So a chubby Serbian drag king wins Eurovision. Let's leave them to it next year, it isn't even funny any more, the voting has nothing whatsoever to do with the music.
Who thought the liberation of eastern Europe from communism would lead to the destruction of the Eurovision Song Contest? History is endlessly fascinating.
