That is the very sad truth.
Moreover, the thing is that it's not just the chavs who are chav-camming it. You'd be genuinely amazed at the amount of guys I've met who have pulled up in their brand spanking Porsche Caymans, stepped out wearing a ?1,500 Armani jacket, and then proceeded to shoot my scene on a ?180 mini-DV from Argos. But it's not just that, even some of the guys who have invested in the high-end HD cameras and run everything into their Mac G5 editing suites are still shooting content that pretty much defines 'amateur'.
Most of those guys are the ones who work you hard and pay you low. The ones who pay the girls well are the ones who still care about what they're doing enough to put thought into it, but sadly they're the guys who have to show up to shoots in second hand Vauxhall Astras and tinker with their busted old studio lights, apologising the whole time about how they wish they could have given it the pro treatment.
It's why I like fetish work. Fetish fans tend to be well-off, polite and respectful, and above all they care a lot about what they commit to film. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it satisfies everyone who is interested in it. I mean proper fetish, latex films, WAM, pro rope bondage, BDSM, high-quality stuff, not the filmed-in-my-sordid-basement-handcuffed-to-a-weights-bench tat you get on some of the shittier sites.
I don't think I'm the only one, and this thread proves it, who is sick to the back teeth of the internet being full of girls I personally wouldn't give a second look to in the street, who don't know how to do their makeup and whose wardrobe appears to consist of a pink miniskirt and a pair of plastic heeled sandals, mewling like stuck pigs or worse, silent as the grave as they get ploughed by whichever flabby hairless yank has decided that he'd start his own 'stupid horny skanky bukkake creampie anal co-ed' site from his studio apartment.
There's a word thet gets bandied about a lot in porn and that these days only seems to be really appropriate in about 2% of cases, and that is the word 'talent'.
