Administrator BGAFD,

Thanks for the link. It was very informative and reflects the sexual mores of the international political community. The basis of most of the international legislation reflects the religious background of the legislators.
Censors feel morally superior to porno film-makers and to the people who watch them.

Authoritarian governments always have the most Draconian censorship of sexual imagery. Religious or secular they try to control the sexual behaviour of the people because they think that a hedonistic society would be uncontrollable and anarchy would prevail. Rulers and politicians speculate how would they all get up and go out to work or to worship, sell or produce goods for the people to consume.

All the politicians of the West want is a nation of passive consumers and in the East a nation of passive worshippers. Everyone under control. Control of sexuality is control per se. The control of women is obvious from the condemnation of single mothers here in England to the enshrowded and clitorodectimised imprisonment of muslim fundamentalists females by their lord and masters the men.

Politicians and priests universally realise that pornography the propaganda of hedonism leads to the real atavistic sexual nature of women being revealed. The asexual or romantic image is torn down. Pornography is educative, iconoclastic and alters society more than anything else because women become overtly sexual without feeling shame.

Watching pornography is not just a lone masturbatory practice of the male. Both sexes are watching it often together.
Even though the penalty is death in some societies!

Think about it. Pornography is political.

Mike.

I have to say - sorry, but good riddance.

Yes, we're not perfect here but porn-wise things have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years.

Good luck to you wherever you set up. just don't come back for the NHS, sausages, ketchup, custard etc.

I am proud to be a Briton, our country isn't perfect but it is better than many others and, frankly, we are lucky to live here. Sudan, anyone?

Lots of ex-pats rubbish our little island. They can piss off - as can you Mike. You won't be missed. Don't come back when you need us.

Sorry if this is a bit over the top but I don't think enough people realise that Britain is actually a really good country to live in. I am very tired of people saying - that's it, I'm off. Godd riddance to them!

My thoughts too (generally). People want their country when it suits them, and piss off, when it doesn't. Mike bangs on about authoritarian governments, but is 'allowed' to choose which country he resides, and is 'permitted' to complain on this very board.........freely. Something he -and all of us at times- take for granted, yet something that would be illegal in many countries.

Mike should be glad that Britain lets him complain, and move around Europe so freely. I guess when he needs some expensive medical treatment, he'll be on the next plane home and joining the NHS waiting list? I may be wrong, but I'm just a sceptic a heart.

Hi Mike,

Good luck in where you decide to lay your hat, and I hope you find peace in your new home.

Thinking back on previous posts I'm pretty curious as to where you're headed!

According to your complaints, the country has to be:

1) Tolerant of all pornography.

2) Tolerant of all drug use.

3) Tolerant of home owners blastng away at trespassers with shotguns.

4) Totally intolerant of religious education for children.

I can't, for the life of me, think of a European country that has these philosophies.

Sam,
It is not "Britain" that lets me complain or "move around Europe" but Europe:it is my right of freedom of expression and the right to leave my own country. Both are enshrined in the European Convention of Human Rights. Also I don't use the NHS and I have not been to hospital for fifty years.
