I've also seen the damage drugs can do CJ, but they're not the root problem. Poverty is what makes drugs so damaging. The UK (and probably America too) is full of white middle class people who take cocaine on a regular basis. Powder coke is the wealthy person's drug of choice. It's not a healthy thing to do, it's addictive and fairly expensive.

But how many white middle class people do you see dropping dead, in jail or robbing to feed their habit? Very, very few. Because the truth is, if you can afford decent quality drugs they're not a big problem. You can avoid the police by having dealers deliver to your home (not that the police care about arresting such people anyway). You can avoid the dangers of contaminated drugs by buying the good stuff. And if you find yourself hooked, you can get medical help to kick the habit.

You're right on point! So you know it's a big conspiracy then why they decided to make cocaine cheaper, alcohol cheaper, etc. to make it more addictive and accessible to the less fortunate (black and white, if applicable). Yep, this crack epidemic is causing the jails here to be filled with mostly black and latin people whether they're dealers and/or buyers and there's no ceasing of it!

I'm inclined to agree for the fact that crime would go down alone. I don't think that the addiction rate would necessarily go up though.
