FF, you are absolutely correct, and I fear as we become more and more conditioned by the media the problem will get worse.
As far as Clarkson goes, I admire him. No doubt he will be playing a part but much of what he says is common sense unlike the guilt-trip environmentalist nonsense that comes from the PC brigade, and he comes across as being genuine.
Jeremy Clarkson - Good Bloke.

Bob, it doesn?t seem fair to judge people by where they hail from. There's good 'n' bad all over the UK (though I'll grant one should always be circumspect when dealing with Scousers). Personally, I?ve worked out a far more elegant and effective way of classifying folks. You see, wherever you go in the UK there are just three basic types of people ? chavs, Guardian readers, and decent folk.

Leave it out, mart. You're just jealous. Yes, jealous 'cause JC is a well cool dude who goes toasting round in seriously tasty motors shouting 'Wheyhey!' and doing all sorts of other groovy stuff that real chaps admire. JC is a geezer's geezer. He's everything you?re not, mart. That's why you don't like him, you're resentful of him having all that fun, resentful of him speaking his mind, and resentful of him having the balls to speak his mind. You're resentful of his popularity and you?re resentful of him being 'a chap'.
Of course, deep down, you always wanted to be 'a chap' didn't you, mart. You wanted to have fun, to be popular with your peers and have girls swooning at your feet. But it never worked out for you, did it? The world was so horrid and unfair. So, what did you do? You became 'a socialist'. Of course this was just what you had been looking for, because socialists weren?t bothered about all that tomfoolery and superficiality, were they? Socialists could turn their noses up and pretend they were above all that, above the shallow pleasures of the common folks, the folks who enjoyed their lives. Socialists had a higher calling, socialists had to be dour, resolute. Socialists had to guide the common folk, whether they liked it or not, because ?they new not what they did?. Socialists? would make the world a more equal place ? in the future no intelligent, charismatic, Jack the lads would be able to have more fun than anyone else. You?d see to it that they wouldn?t have the best girls admiring their wads or be able to drive the best cars or live in the best gaffs, because Socialists would take their money and make laws to prevent them rising to the top. That would teach them, wouldn?t it, mart? If you couldn?t have it, why should they? It wasn?t fair, was it?

I'm not knocking genuine success and achievment but wtf has he ever done that makes some of you wet your knickers about him?
I'll concede his prog. about IKB was great but that apart....????

I don't worship him in any way, shape or form. However I don think he is a breath of fresh in a world of bullshit where people no longer say what they really mean, and genuinely entertaining.

I don't believe EVERY Nigerian is an internet scammer, I don't believe EVERY Scotsman is tightfisted and I don't believe EVERY American is stupid, however, I've yet to meet a Yorkshireman who was worth knowing, trusting and befriending... they're even scummier than Scousers.
