The forumla went stale along time ago so introducing himself was to be expected

I really wonder with these types of books that seem to always be labelled best seller wether this ells them or the story

As for the Da Vinci Code, that has to be one of the greatist marketing campaigns ever.Based on nothing but assumptions which are easily disproved.SHEEP!!!!

You should try reading the previous tome by Brown---Angels And Demons. Absolute, unbelievable dribble.

I think I recall seeing the title mentioned but thought better of it

better the devil you know etc

Whats amusing with so called "Authors" is their background
I can recall some English supposebly qualified twat not that long ago waffling on about how Society due to its status driven nature isn't becoming any happier than say 30/40 years ago only to find out his previous offerings were Romance Novels.Credibility with a Capital C

Like Dr Phil writing about weight loss
When he loses the extra kilos I might buy his because it obviously works ;-)

What's so wrong with writing romance novels? A few years back, the Academy Award for best adapted screenplay went to the scribe of A Beautiful Mind, whose previous canon of work included Lost In Space and that turd of a movie that refuses to flush out of my memory Batman And Robin.

Also, not many people know, but Jean Paul Sartre used to write romance novels under the name Barbara Cartland. And before you dispute that fact, tell me when did you ever see them in the same room. Proof positive.

My point was going from such a trivial subject as romance to writing about the ills in Society and possible solutions is about as bigger contrast as you will find.

Some authors might be capable of doing it but wether they add anything new to subject is another matter

As one reviewer put it this guy as so many do has simply taken material/themes from the existing library of published views and put his own spin on the subject.

In another 10/20 years time it will no doubt be re-visited by another writer
looking to fleece the public with an equally un-original version

I've just been writing my thoughts on a toilet roll while consuming chips with brown sauce

If they're pulished via my own toilet roll brand-shit happens, would that make me an author?

Don't know about that, but it sounds like a frontrunner for next year's Turner Prize.

I've just started Showgirls by Andrea Stuart which covers from the opening of the Moulin Rouge and Folies Bergeres to Mae West. It's really excellent.

A lot of the girls on this board would like it because I think they would recognise the lives of the girls in the book.
